So I returned and informed them about her statement. They then told me to go to Umm Salamah with the same question with which t sent me to Aisha. Umm Salamah replied; I heard the Prophet ﷺ forbidding them. Later I saw him offering them immediately after he prayed the Asr prayer. He then entered my house at a time when some of the Ansari women from the tribe of Bani Haram were sitting with me; so I sent my slave girl to him having said to her; Stand beside him and tell him that Umm Salamah says to you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! I have heard you forbidding the offering of these two rakat after the Asr prayer but I have seen you offering them. If he waves his hand then wait for him. The slave girl did that. The Prophet ﷺ beckoned her with his hand and she waited for him. When he had finished the prayer he said; O daughter of Bani Umaiya! You have asked me about the two rakat after the Asr prayer. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-089Narrated Mahmud Bin AlRabi AlAnsari: that he remembered Allah Messenger ﷺ and he also remembered a mouthful of water which he had thrown on his face; after taking it from a well that was in their house. Mahmud said that he had heard Itban Bin Malik; who was present with Allah Messenger ﷺ in the battle of Badr saying; I used to lead my people at Bani Salim in the prayer and there was a valley between me and those people. Whenever it rained it used to be difficult for me to cross it to go to their Masjid. So I went to Allah Messenger ﷺ and said; I have weak eyesight and the valley between me and my people flows during the rainy season and it becomes difficult for me to cross it; I wish you would come to my house and pray at a place so that I could take that place as a praying place. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; I will do so. So Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr came to my house in the next morning after the sun had risen high. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked my permission to let him in and I admitted him. He did not sit before saying; Where do you want us to offer the prayer in your house? I pointed to the place where I wanted him to pray. So Allah Messenger ﷺ stood up for the prayer and started the prayer with Takbir and we aligned in rows behind him; and he offered two rakat; and finished them with Taslim; and we also performed Taslim with him. I detained him for a meal called KhaZirr which I had prepared for him.- KhaZirr is a special type of dish prepared from barley flour and meat soup - When the neighbors got the news that Allah Messenger ﷺ was in my house; they poured it till there were a great number of men in the house. One of them said; What is wrong with Malik; for I do not see him? One of them replied; He is a hypocrite and does not love Allah and His Apostle. On that Allah Apostle said; Dont say this. Havent you seen that he said; None has the right to be worshipped but Allah for Allah sake only. The man replied; Allah and His Apostle know better; but by Allah; we never saw him but helping and talking with the hypocrites. Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; No doubt; whoever says. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah; and by that he wants the pleasures of Allah; then Allah will save him from Hell. Mahmud added; I told the above narration to some people; one of whom was Abu Ayoub ; the companion of Allah Messenger ﷺ in the battle in which he Abu Ayoub died and Yazid Bin Muawiya was their leader in Roman Territory. Abu Ayoub denounced the narration and said; I doubt that Allah Messenger ﷺ ever said what you have said. I felt that too much; and I vowed to Allah that if I remained alive in that holy battle; I would go to Medina and ask Itban Bin Malik if he was still living in the Masjid of his people. So when he returned; I assumed Ihram for Hajj or Umra and then I proceeded on till I reached Medina. I went to Bani Salim and Itban Bin Malik; who was by then an old blind man; was leading his people in the prayer. When he finished the prayer; I greeted him and introduced myself to him and then asked him about that narration. He told that narration again in the same manner as he had narrated it the first time. The Chapter on Leave in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on To offer Nawafil in congregation in Sahih AlBukhari

Salim said; Ibn Umar delayed the Maghrib prayer because at that time he heard the news of the death of his wife Safiya bint Abi Ubaid. I said to him; The prayer is due. He said; Go on. Again I said; The prayer is due. He said; Go on; till we covered two or three miles. Then he got down; prayed and said; I saw the Prophet ﷺ praying in this way; whenever he was in a hurry during the journey. In the meantime the time of Asr prayer was due; Bilal pronounced the Adhan and then the Iqama for the prayer and requested Abu Bakr to lead the prayer and Abu Bakr went forward. The Prophet ﷺ arrived while Abu Bakr was still praying. He entered the rows of praying people till he stood behind Abu Bakr in the first row. The people started clapping; and it was the habit of Abu Bakr that whenever he stood for prayer; he never glanced side-ways till he had finished it; but when Abu Bakr observed that the clapping was not coming to an end; he looked and saw the Prophet ﷺ standing behind him. The Prophet ﷺ beckoned him to carry on by waving his hand. Abu Bakr stood there for a while; thanking Allah for the saying of the Prophet ﷺ and then he retreated; taking his steps backwards. When the Prophet saw that; he went ahead and led the people in prayer. When he finished the prayer; he said; O Abu Bakr! What prevented you from carrying on with the prayer after I beckoned you to do so? Abu Bakr replied; It does not befit the son of Abi Quhafa to lead the Prophet ﷺ in prayer. SahihMuslim-017-001-17914It has been reported on the authority of Anas Bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit Umm Haram daughter of Milhan who was the sister of his foster-mother or his father aunt. She was the wife of Ubada Bin Samit; One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid her a visit. She entertained him with food and then sat down to rub his head. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ dozed off and when he woke up after a while ; he was laughing. She asked: What made you laugh. Messenger of Allah? He said: Some people from my Umma were presented to me who were fighters in the way of Allah and were sailing in this sea. Gliding smoothly on the water ; they appeared to be kings or like kings sitting on thrones the narrator has a doubt about the actual expression used by the Holy Prophet. She said: Messenger of Allah; pray to Allah that He may include me among these warriors. He prayed for her. Then he placed his head down and dozed off again. He woke up laughing; as before. She said I said: Messenger of Allah; what makes you laugh? He replied: A people from my Umma were presented to me. They were fighters in Allah way. He described them in the same words as he had described the first warriors. She said: Messenger of Allah; pray to God that He may include me among these warriors. SahihMuslim-017-001-18113It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Masud who said: While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was saying his prayer near the Kaba and Abu Jahl with his companions was sitting near by ; Abu Jahl said; referring to the camel that had been slaughtered the previous day: Who will rise to fetch the foetus of the camel of so and so; and place it between the shoulders of Muhammad when he goes down in prostration a posture in prayer. The one most accursed among the people got up; brought the foetus and; when the Prophet ﷺ went down in prostration; placed it between his shoulders. Then they laughed at him and some of them leaned upon the others with laughter. And I stood looking. If I had the power; I would have thrown it away from the back of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ had bent down his head in prostration and did not raise it; until a man went to his house and informed his daughter Fatima; who was a young girl at that time about this ugly incident. She came and removed the filthy thing from him. Then she turned towards them rebuking them the mischief-mongers. When the Prophet ﷺ had finished his prayer; he invoked God imprecations upon them in a loud voice. When he prayed; he prayed thrice; and when he asked for God blessings; he asked thrice. Then he said thrice: O Allah; it is for Thee to deal with the Quraish. When they heard his voice; laughter vanished from them and they feared his malediction. Then he said: O God; it is for Thee to deal with Abu Jahl Bin Hisham; Utba Bin Rabia; Shaiba Bin Rabia. Walid Bin Uqba; Umaya Bin Khalaf; Uqba Bin Abu Muait and he mentioned the name of the seventh person. which I did not remember. I mounted it and came to the Temple Bait Maqdis in Jerusalem ; then tethered it to the ring used by the prophets. I entered the Masjid and prayed two rakahs in it; and then came out and Gabriel brought me a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk. I chose the milk; and Gabriel said: You have chosen the natural thing. Then he took me to heaven. Gabriel then asked the gate of heaven to be opened and he was asked who he was. He replied: Gabriel. He was again asked: Who is with you? He Gabriel said: Muhammad. It was said: Has he been sent for? Gabriel replied: He has indeed been sent for. Then I was taken to Sidrat AlMuntaha whose leaves were like elephant ears and its fruit like big earthenware vessels. And when it was covered by the Command of Allah; it underwent such a change that none amongst the creation has the power to praise its beauty. Then Allah revealed to me a revelation and He made obligatory for me fifty prayers every day and night. Then I went down to Moses ﷺ and he said: What has your Lord enjoined upon your Ummah? I said: Fifty prayers. He said: Return to thy Lord and beg for reduction in the number of prayers ; for your community shallnot be able to bear this burden. as I have put to test the children of Israil and tried them and found them too weak to bear such a heavy burden. He the Holy Prophet said: I went back to my Lord and said: My Lord; make things lighter for my Ummah. The Lord reduced five prayers for me. I went down to Moses and said. The Lord reduced five prayers for me; He said: Verily thy Ummah shall not be able to bear this burden; return to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter. I then kept going back and forth between my Lord Blessed and Exalted and Moses; till He said: There are five prayers every day and night. O Muhammad; each being credited as ten; so that makes fifty prayers. He who intends to do a good deed and does not do it will have a good deed recorded for him; and if he does it; it will be recorded for him as ten; whereas he who intends to do an evil deed and does not do; it will not be recorded for him; and if he does it; only one evil deed will be recorded. He replied: In the last part: Pray as much as you like; for the prayer is attended by the angels and it is recorded till you offer the dawn prayer; then stop praying when the sun is rising till it has reached the height of one or two lances; for it rises between the two horns of the Devil; and the infidels offer prayer for it at that time. Then pray as much as you like; because the prayer is witnessed and recorded till the shadow of a lance be- comes equal to it. Then cease prayer; for at that time the Hell-fire is heated up and doors of Hell are opened. When the sun declines; pray as much as you like; for the prayer is witnessed till you pray the afternoon prayer; then cease prayer till the sun sets; for it sets between the horns of the Devil; and at that time the infidels offer prayer for it. MuwataMalik-017-001-34291Yahya related to me from Malik from Yazid Ibn Ruman from Salih Ibn Khawat from someone who had prayed the prayer of fear with the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; on the day of Dhat AlRiqa that one group had formed a row with him and one group had formed a row opposite the enemy. He then prayed one raka with the group he was with; and then remained standing while they finished by themselves. They then left and formed a row opposite the enemy; and then the other group came and he prayed the remaining raka of his prayer with them; and then remained sitting while they finished by themselves. Then he said the taslim with them. The Chapter on Bowing In Prayers And Mina And Alqiblah in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prayer in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34292Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya Ibn Said from AlQasim Ibn Muhammad from Salih Ibn Khawat that Sahl Ibn Abi Hathma related to him that the form of the prayer of fear was that the imam stood with a group of his companions; while another group faced the enemy. The imam prayed one raka with them; including the prostration; and then stood. He remained standing while they completed the remaining raka by themselves. They then said the taslim; left; and formed up opposite the enemy while the imam remained standing. Then the others who had not prayed came forward and said the takbir behind the imam and he prayed one raka with them; including the prostration. He then said the taslim; while they stood up and prayed the remaining raka by themselves. Then they said the taslim. The Chapter on Imam Led Prayers And Prostration in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prayer in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34293Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah Ibn Umar; when asked about the fear prayer said; The imam and a group of people go forward and the imam prays a raka with them; while another group; who have not yet prayed; position themselves between him and the enemy. When those who are with him have prayed a raka they draw back to where those who have not prayed are; and do not say the taslim. Then those who have not prayed come forward and pray a raka with him. Then the imam leaves; as he has now prayed two rakas. Everyone else in the two groups stands and prays a raka by himself after the imam has left. In this way each of the two groups will have prayed two rakas. If the fear is greater than that; then the men pray standing on their feet or mounted; either facing the qibla or otherwise. The Chapter on Bowing In Prayers And Mina And Alqiblah in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prayer in Muwata Malik

Then he went down into sajda; and by the time he had finished the sun had appeared. Then he said; The sun and the moon are two of Allah signs. They do not eclipse for anyone death nor for anyone life. When you see an eclipse; remember Allah. They said; Messenger of Allah; we saw you reach out for something while you were standing here and then we saw you withdraw. He said; I saw the Garden and I reached out for a bunch of grapes from it; and if I had taken it you would have been able to eat from it for as long as this world lasted. Then I saw the Fire - and I have never seen anything more hideous than what I saw today - and I saw that most of its people were women. They said; Why; Messenger of Allah? He said; Because of their ungratefulness kufr. Someone said; Are they ungrateful toAllah? He said; They are ungrateful to their husbands and they are ungrateful for good behaviour towards them.
