  1. Narrated Ibrahim: Once a meal was brought to Abdulrahman Bin Auf and he was fasting. He said; Mustab Bin Umar was martyred and he was better than I and was shrouded in his Burd and when his head was covered with it; his legs became bare; and when his legs were covered his head got uncovered. Hamza was martyred and was better than I. Now the worldly wealth have been bestowed upon us or said a similar thing. No doubt; I fear that the rewards of my deeds might have been given earlier in this world. Then he started weeping and left his food. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-217
  2. It is reported on the authority of Sahl Bin Saad AlSaidi that there was an encounter between the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the polytheists; and they fought against one another. At the conclusion of the battle the Messenger of Allah ﷺ bent his steps towards his army and they the enemies bent their steps towards their army. And there was a person his name was Quzman and he was one of the hypocrites among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who did not spare a detached fighter of the enemy but pursued and killed him with the sword. They the Companions of the Holy Prophet said: None served us better today than this man Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remarked: Verily he is one of the denizens of Fire. One of the people Muslims said: I will constantly shadow him. Then this man went out along with him. He halted whenever he halted; and ran along with him whenever he ran. He the narrator said: The man was seriously injured. He could not stand the pain and hastened his own death. He placed the blade of the sword on the ground with the tip between his chest and then pressed himself against the sword and killed himself. Then the man following him went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: I bear testimony that verily thou art the Messenger of Allah; He the Holy Prophet said: What is the matter? He replied: The person about whom you just mentioned that he was one among the denizens of Fire and the people were surprised at this and I said to them that I would bring the news about him and consequently I went out in search of him till I found him to be very seriously injured. He hastened his death. He placed the blade of the sword upon the ground and its tip between his chest and then pressed himself against that and killed himself. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remarked: A person performs the deeds which to the people appear to be the deeds befitting the dweller of Paradise; but he is in fact one of the denizens of Hell. And verily a person does an act which in the eyes of public is one which is done by the denizens of Hell; but the person is one among the dwellers of Paradise. SahihMuslim-017-001-18595
  3. Narrated AlBara Bin Azib: Allah Messenger ﷺ sent some men from the Ansar to kill Abu Rafi; the Jew; and appointed Abdullah Bin Atik as their leader. Abu Rafi used to hurt Allah Messenger ﷺ and help his enemies against him. He lived in his castle in the land of Hijaz. When those men approached the castle after the sun had set and the people had brought back their livestock to their homes. Abdullah bin Atik said to his companions; Sit down at your places. I am going; and I will try to play a trick on the gate-keeper so that I may enter the castle. So Abdullah proceeded towards the castle; and when he approached the gate; he covered himself with his clothes; pretending to answer the call of nature. The people had gone in; and the gate-keeper considered Abdullah as one of the castle servants addressing him saying; O Allah Servant! Enter if you wish; for I want to close the gate. Abdullah added in his story; So I went in the castle and hid myself. When the people got inside; the gate-keeper closed the gate and hung the keys on a fixed wooden peg. I got up and took the keys and opened the gate. Some people were staying late at night with Abu Rafi for a pleasant night chat in a room of his. When his companions of nightly entertainment went away; I ascended to him; and whenever I opened a door; I closed it from inside. I said to myself; Should these people discover my presence; they will not be able to catch me till I have killed him. So I reached him and found him sleeping in a dark house amidst his family; I could not recognize his location in the house. So I shouted; O Abu Rafi! Abu Rafi said; Who is it? I proceeded towards the source of the voice and hit him with the sword; and because of my perplexity; I could not kill him. He cried loudly; and I came out of the house and waited for a while; and then went to him again and said; What is this voice; O Abu Rafi? He said; Woe to your mother! A man in my house has hit me with a sword! I again hit him severely but I did not kill him. Then I drove the point of the sword into his belly and pressed it through till it touched his back; and I realized that I have killed him. I then opened the doors one by one till I reached the staircase; and thinking that I had reached the ground; I stepped out and fell down and got my leg broken in a moonlit night. I tied my leg with a turban and proceeded on till I sat at the gate; and said; I will not go out tonight till I know that I have killed him. So; when early in the morning the cock crowed; the announcer of the casualty stood on the wall saying; I announce the death of Abu Rafi; the merchant of Hijaz. Thereupon I went to my companions and said; Let us save ourselves; for Allah has killed Abu Rafi; So I along with my companions proceeded and went to the Prophet ﷺ and described the whole story to him. He said; Stretch out your broken leg. I stretched it out and he rubbed it and it became All right as if I had never had any ailment whatsoever. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6390
  4. This hadith has been transmitted by Abu AlAhwas and in this these words are also found: Muadh said: Allah Messenger; does it concern this particular case or to all of us? And he the Holy Prophet said: Of course; to all of you. SahihMuslim-017-001-19370
  5. Narrated AlAswad: It was mentioned in the presence of Aisha that the Prophet ﷺ had appointed Ali as successor by will. Thereupon she said; Who said so? I saw the Prophet; while I was supporting him against my chest. He asked for a tray; and then fell on one side and expired; and I did not feel it. So how do the people say he appointed Ali as his successor? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6779
  6. Abu Salama Bin Abd AlRabman reported: Abd AlRabman Bin Abu Saeed AlKhudri Allah be pleased with him happened to pass by me and I said to him. How did you hear your father making mention of the Masjid founded on Piety? He said: My father said: I went to Allah Messenger ﷺ as he was in the house of one of his wives; and said: Messenger of Allah; which of the two Masjids is founded on piety? Thereupon he took a handful of pebbles and threw them on the ground and then said: This is the very Masjid of yours Masjid at Medina. He the narrator said: I bear witness that I heard your father making mention of it. SahihMuslim-017-001-23299
