SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1220Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: We were in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and we assumed the state of Ihram of Hajj and arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhu AlHijja. The Prophet ﷺ ordered us to perform the Tawaf around the Kaba and Sai between AlSafa and AlMarwa and use our lhram just for Umra; and finish the state of Ihram unless we had our Hadi with us. None of us had the Hadi with him except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha. Ali came from Yemen and brought the Hadi with him. Ali said; I had assumed the state of Ihram with the same intention as that with which Allah Messenger ﷺ had assumed it. The people said; How can we proceed to Mina and our male organs are dribbling? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; If I had formerly known what I came to know latterly; I would not have brought the Hadi; and had there been no Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram. Suraqa bin Malik met the Prophet ﷺ while he was throwing pebbles at the Jamrat AlAqaba; and asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is this permitted for us only? The Prophet ﷺ replied. No; it is forever Aisha had arrived at Mecca while she was menstruating; therefore the Prophet ﷺ ordered her to perform all the ceremonies of Hajj except the Tawaf around the Kaba; and not to perform her prayers unless and until she became clean. When they encamped at AlBatha; Aisha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You are proceeding after performing both Hajj and Umra while I am proceeding with Hajj only? So the Prophet ﷺ ordered Abdulrahman Bin Abu Bakr AlSiddiq to go with her to AlTanim; and so she performed the Umra in Dhu AlHijja after the days of the Hajj. The Chapter on Menustration In Alhajj in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If I had formerly known what I came to know recently in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1302Narrated AlMiswar Bin Makhrama: The group of people whom Umar had selected as candidates for the Caliphate gathered and consulted each other. Abdulrahman said to them; I am not going to compete with you in this matter; but if you wish; I would select for you a caliph from among you. So all of them agreed to let Abdulrahman decide the case. So when the candidates placed the case in the hands of Abdulrahman the people went towards him and nobody followed the rest of the group nor obeyed any after him. So the people followed Abdulrahman and consulted him all those nights till there came the night we gave the oath of allegiance to Uthman. AlMiswar bin Makhrama added: Abdulrahman called on me after a portion of the night had passed and knocked on my door till I got up; and he said to me; I see you have been sleeping! By Allah; during the last three nights I have not slept enough. Go and call AlZubair and Sad. So I called them for him and he consulted them and then called me saying; Call Ali for me. I called Ali and he held a private talk with him till very late at night; and then Al; got up to leave having had much hope to be chosen as a Caliph but Abdulrahman was afraid of something concerning Ali. Abdulrahman then said to me; Call Uthman for me. I called him and he kept on speaking to him privately till the Muadh-dhin put an end to their talk by announcing the Adhan for the Fajr prayer. When the people finished their morning prayer and that six men group gathered near the pulpit; Abdulrahman sent for all the Muhajirin emigrants and the Ansar present there and sent for the army chief who had performed the Hajj with Umar that year. When all of them had gathered; Abdulrahman said; None has the right to be worshipped but Allah; and added; Now then; O Ali; I have looked at the people tendencies and noticed that they do not consider anybody equal to Uthman; so you should not incur blame by disagreeing. Then Abdulrahman said to Uthman ; I gave the oath of allegiance to you on condition that you will follow Allah Laws and the traditions of Allah Apostle and the traditions of the two Caliphs after him. So Abdulrahman gave the oath of allegiance to him; and so did the people including the Muhajirin emigrants and the Ansar and the chiefs of the army staff and all the Muslims. The Chapter on Alansar And Dirhams in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on How do the people give the Baia to the Imam in Sahih AlBukhari

They said to him; Since you have become a Muslim; we have never seen you doing a deed more criticizable to us than your haste in this matter. Ammar said; Since you both became Muslims; I have never seen you doing a deed more criticizable to me than your keeping away from this matter. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1438Narrated Malik Bin Aus AlNasri: I proceeded till I entered upon Umar and while I was sitting there ; his gate-keeper Yarfa came to him and said; Uthman; Abdulrahman AlZubair and Saad ask your permission to come in. Umar allowed them. So they entered; greeted; and sat down. After a while the gatekeeper came and said; Shall I admit Ali and Abbas? Umar allowed them to enter. AlAbbas said O Chief of the believers! Judge between me and the oppressor Ali. Then there was a dispute regarding the property of Bani Nadir between them Abbas and Ali. Uthman and his companions said; O Chief of the Believers! Judge between them and relieve one from the other. Umar said; Be patient! beseech you by Allah; with Whose permission the Heaven and the Earth Exist! Do you know that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Our property is not to be inherited; and whatever we leave is to be given in charity; and by this Allah Messenger ﷺ meant himself? On that the group said; He verily said so. Umar then faced Ali and Abbas and said; I beseech you both by Allah; do you both know that Allah Messenger ﷺ said so? They both replied; Yes. Umar then said; Now I am talking to you about this matter in detail. Allah favored Allah Messenger ﷺ with some of this wealth which He did not give to anybody else; as Allah said: What Allah bestowed as Fai Booty on His Apostle for which you made no expedition... 59.6 So that property was totally meant for Allah Messenger ﷺ ; yet he did not collect it and ignore you; nor did he withhold it with your exclusion; but he gave it to you and distributed it among you till this much of it was left behind; and the Prophet; used to spend of this as the yearly expenditures of his family and then take what remained of it and spent it as he did with other Allah wealth. The Prophet ﷺ did so during all his lifetime; and I beseech you by Allah; do you know that? They replied; Yes. Umar then addressed Ali and Abbas; saying; I beseech you both by Allah; do you know that? Both of them replied; Yes. Umar added; Then Allah took His Apostle unto Him. Abu Bakr then said I am the successor of Allah Messenger ﷺ and took over all the Prophet property and disposed of it in the same way as Allah Messenger ﷺ used to do; and you were present then. Then he turned to Ali and Abbas and said; You both claim that Abu Bakr did so-and-so in managing the property; but Allah knows that Abu Bakr was honest; righteous; intelligent; and a follower of what is right in managing it. Then Allah took Abu Bakr unto Him; I said: I am the successor of Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr. So I took over the property for two years and managed it in the same way as Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and Abu Bakr used to do. Then you both Ali and Abbas came to me and asked for the same thing! O Abbas! You came to me to ask me for your share from nephew property; and this Ali came to me asking for his wives share from her father property; and I said to you both; If you wish; I will place it in your custody on condition that you both will manage it in the same way as Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr did and as I have been doing since I took charge of managing it; otherwise; do not speak to me anymore about it. Then you both said; Give it to us on that condition. So I gave it to you on that condition. Now I beseech you by Allah; did I not give it to them on that condition? The group whom he had been addressing replied; Yes. Umar then addressed Abbas and Ali saying; I beseech you both by Allah; didnt I give you all that property on that condition? They said; Yes. Umar then said; Are you now seeking a verdict from me other than that? By Him with Whose Permission the Heaven and the Earth exists I will not give any verdict other than that till the Hour is established; and if you both are unable to manage this property; then you can hand it back to me; and I will be sufficient for it on your behalf. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1477Narrated Ali Bin Abi Talib: That Allah Messenger ﷺ came to him and Fatima the daughter of Allah Messenger ﷺ at their house at night and said; Wont you pray? Ali replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Our souls are in the Hands of Allah and when he wants us to get up; He makes us get up. When Ali said that to him; Allah Messenger ﷺ left without saying anything to him. While the Prophet ﷺ was leaving; Ali heard him striking his thigh with his hand and saying; But man is quarrelsome more than anything else. 18.54The Chapter on Body Parts The Hands And Thumbs in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on But man is ever more quarrelsome than anything in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1529Narrated Abu Said: While the Prophet ﷺ was distributing something; Abdullah Bin Dhi AlKhawaisira AlTamimi came and said; Be just; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The Prophet ﷺ said; Woe to you ! Who would be just if I were not? Umar Bin AlKhattab said; Allow me to cut off his neck ! The Prophet ﷺ said; Leave him; for he has companions; and if you compare your prayers with their prayers and your fasting with theirs; you will look down upon your prayers and fasting; in comparison to theirs. Yet they will go out of the religion as an arrow darts through the game body in which case; if the Qudhadh of the arrow is examined; nothing will be found on it; and when its Nasl is examined; nothing will be found on it; and then its Nadiyi is examined; nothing will be found on it. The arrow has been too fast to be smeared by dung and blood. The sign by which these people will be recognized will be a man whose one hand or breast will be like the breast of a woman or like a moving piece of flesh. These people will appear when there will be differences among the people Muslims. Abu Saeed added: I testify that I heard this from the Prophet ﷺ and also testify that Ali killed those people while I was with him. The man with the description given by the Prophet ﷺ was brought to Ali. The following Verses were revealed in connection with that very person i.e.; Abdullah Bin Dhi AlKhawaisira AlTarnimi : And among them are men who accuse you O Muhammad in the matter of the distribution of the alms. 9.58The Chapter on Good Manners And Ghira in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Whoever gave up fighting against AlKhawarij in order to create intimacy in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1535Narrated: Abu Abdulrahman and Hibban Bin Atiya had a dispute. Abu Abdulrahman said to Hibban; You know what made your companions i.e. Ali dare to shed blood. Hibban said; Come on! What is that? Abdulrahman said; Something I heard him saying. The other said; What was it? Abdulrahman said; Ali said; Allah Messenger ﷺ sent for me; AlZubair and Abu Marthad; and all of us were cavalry men; and said; Proceed to Raudat-Hajj Abu Salama said that Abu Awana called it like this; i.e.; Hajj where there is a woman carrying a letter from Hatib Bin Abi Baltaa to the pagans of Mecca. So bring that letter to me. So we proceeded riding on our horses till we overtook her at the same place of which Allah Messenger ﷺ had told us. She was traveling on her camel. In that letter Hatib had written to the Meccans about the proposed attached of Allah Messenger ﷺ against them. We asked her; Where is the letter which is with you? She replied; I havent got any letter. So we made her camel kneel down and searched her luggage; but we did not find anything. My two companions said; We do not think that she has got a letter. I said; We know that Allah Messenger ﷺ has not told a lie. Then Ali took an oath saying; By Him by Whom one should swear! You shall either bring out the letter or we shall strip off your clothes. She then stretched out her hand for her girdle round her waist and brought out the paper letter. They took the letter to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Umar said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Hatib has betrayed Allah; His Apostle and the believers; let me chop off his neck! Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Hatib! What obliged you to do what you have done? Hatib replied; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Why for what reason should I not believe in Allah and His Apostle? But I intended to do the Mecca people a favor by virtue of which my family and property may be protected as there is none of your companions but has some of his people relatives whom Allah urges to protect his family and property. The Prophet ﷺ said; He has said the truth; therefore; do not say anything to him except good. Umar again said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He has betrayed Allah; His Apostle and the believers; let me chop his neck off! The Prophet ﷺ said; Isnt he from those who fought the battle of Badr? And what do you know; Allah might have looked at them Badr warriors and said to them ; Do what you like; for I have granted you Paradise? May I admit them? Umar said; Yes. So he admitted them Then he came again and said; May I admit Ali and Abbas? He said; Yes. Abbas said; O; chief of the believers! Judge between me and this man Ali. Umar said; I beseech you by Allah by Whose permission both the heaven and the earth exist; do you know that Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Our the Apostles property will not be inherited; and whatever we leave after our death is to be spent in charity? And by that Allah Messenger ﷺ meant himself. The group said; No doubt ; he said so. Umar then faced Ali and Abbas and said; Do you both know that Allah Messenger ﷺ said that? They replied; No doubt ; he said so. Umar said; So let me talk to you about this matter. Allah favored His Apostle with something of this Fai i.e. booty won by the Muslims at war without fighting which He did not give to anybody else; Allah said:- And what Allah gave to His Apostle Fai Booty.........to do all things.... 59.6 And so that property was only for Allah Messenger ﷺ. Yet; by Allah; he neither gathered that property for himself nor withheld it from you; but he gave its income to you; and distributed it among you till there remained the present property out of which the Prophet ﷺ used to spend the yearly maintenance for his family; and whatever used to remain; he used to spend it where Allah property is spent i.e. in charity etc.. Allah Messenger ﷺ followed that throughout his life. Now I beseech you by Allah; do you know all that? They said; Yes. Umar then said to Ali and Abbas; I beseech you by Allah; do you know that? Both of them said; Yes. Umar added; And when the Prophet ﷺ died; Abu Bakr said; I am the successor of Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and took charge of that property and managed it in the same way as Allah Messenger ﷺ did. Then I took charge of this property for two years during which I managed it as Allah Messenger ﷺ and Abu Bakr did. Then you both Ali and Abbas came to talk to me; bearing the same claim and presenting the same case. O Abbas! You came to me asking for your share from the property of your nephew; and this man Ali came to me; asking for the share of h is wife from the property of her father. I said; If you both wish; I will give that to you on that condition i.e. that you would follow the way of the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr and as I Umar have done in man aging it. The people asked Ali ; O AbuHassan How is the health of Allah Messenger ﷺ this morning? Ali said; This morning he is better; with the grace of Allah. AlAbbas held Ali by the hand and said; Dont you see him about to die ? By Allah; within three days you will be the slave of the stick i.e.; under the command of another ruler. By Allah; I think that Allah Messenger ﷺ will die from his present ailment; for I know the signs of death on the faces of the offspring of Abdul Muttalib. So let us go to Allah Messenger ﷺ to ask him who will take over the Caliphate. If the authority is given to us; we will know it; and if it is given to somebody else we will request him to recommend us to him. Ali said; By Allah! She replied; There was something a quarrel between me and him whereupon he got angry with me and went out without having a midday nap in my house. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked a person to look for him. That person came; and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He Ali is sleeping in the Masjid. So Allah Messenger ﷺ went there and found him lying. Act justly. The Prophets said; Woe to you! Who else would act justly if I did not act justly? Umar said to the Prophet ﷺ ; Allow me to chop his neck off. The Prophet said; No; for he has companions who are apparently so pious that if anyone of you compares his prayer with their prayer; he will consider his prayer inferior to theirs; and similarly his fasting inferior to theirs; but they will desert Islam go out of religion as an arrow goes through the victim body games etc. in which case if its Nasl is examined nothing will be seen thereon; and if its Nady is examined; nothing will be seen thereon; and if its Qudhadh is examined; nothing will be seen thereon; for the arrow has gone out too fast even for the excretions and blood to smear over it. Abu Saeed added; I testify that I heard that from the Prophet ﷺ and also testify that I was with Ali when Ali fought against those people. And two men bore witness against him. One of them was Humran who said that he had drunk wine. The second one gave witness that he had seen him vomiting. SahihMuslim-017-001-18040It is reported by Zuhri that this tradition was narrated to him by Malik Bin Aus who said: Umar Bin AlKhattab sent for me and I came to him when the day had advanced. I found him in his house sitting on his bare bed-stead; reclining on a leather pillow. He said to me : Malik; some people of your tribe have hastened to me with a request for help. I have ordered a little money for them. Take it and distribute it among them. I said: I wish you had ordered somebody else to do this job. He said: Malik; take it and do what you have been told. At this moment his man-servant Yarfa came in and said: Commander of the Faithful; what do you say about Uthman; Abd AlRabman Bin Auf; AlZubair and Saad who have come to seek an audience with you ? He said: Yes; and permitted them. so they entered. Then he Yarfa came again and said: What do you say about Ali and Abbas who are present at the door ? He said: Yes; and permitted them to enter. Abbas said: Commander of the Faithful; decide the dispute between me and this sinful; treacherous; dishonest liar. The people who were present also said: Yes. Commander of the Faithful; do decide the dispute and have mercy on them. Malik Bin Aus said: I could well imagine that they had sent them in advance for this purpose by Ali and Abbas. Umar said: Wait and be patient. I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heavens and the earth are sustained; dont you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We prophets do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity? They said: Yes. Then he turned to Abbas and Ali and said: I adjure you both by Allah by Whose order the heavens and earth are sustained; dont you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity? They too said: Yes. Then Umar said: Allah; the Glorious and Exalted; had done to His Messenger ﷺ a special favour that He has not done to anyone else except him. He quoted the Quranic verse: What Allah has bestowed upon His Apostle from the properties of the people of township is for Allah and His Messenger. The narrator said: I do not know whether he also recited the previous verse or not. Umar continued: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distrbuted among you the properties abandoned by Banu Nadir. By Allah; he never preferred himself over you and never appropriated anything to your exclusion. After a fair distribution in this way this property was left over. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would meet from its income his annual expenditure; and what remained would be deposited in the Bait AlMal. Continuing further he said: I adjure you by Allah by Whose order the heavens and the earth are sustained. Do you know this? They said: Yes. Then he adjured Abbas and All as he had adjured the other persons and asked: Do you both know this? They said: Yes. He said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away; Abu Bakr said: I am the successor of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Both of you came to demand your shares from the property left behind by the Messenger of Allah. Referring to Hadrat Abbas ; he said: You demanded your share from the property of your nephew; and he referring to Ali demanded a share on behalf of his wife from the property of her father. Abu Bakr Allah be pleased with him said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said: We do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity. So both of you thought him to be a liar; sinful; treacherous and dishonest. And Allah knows that he was true; virtuous; well-guided and a follower of truth. When Abu Bakr passed away and I have become the successor of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr Allah be pleased with him ; you thought me to be a liar; sinful; treacherous and dishonest. And Allah knows that I am true; virtuous; well-guided and a follower of truth. I became the guardian of this property. Then you as well as he came to me. Both of you have come and your purpose is identical. You said: Entrust the property to us. I said: If you wish that I should entrust it to you; it will be on the condition that both of you will undertake to abide by a pledge made with Allah that you will use it in the same way as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used it. So both of you got it. He said: Wasnt it like this? They said: Yes. He said: Then you have again come to me with the request that I should adjudge between you. No; by Allah. I will not give any other judgment except this until the arrival of the Doomsday. If you are unable to hold the property on this condition; return it to me.The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes Management in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 15 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18043It is narrated on the authority of Urwa Bin AlZubair who narrated from Aisha that she informed him that Fatima; daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; sent someone to Abu Bakr to demand from him her share of the legacy left by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from what Allah had bestowed upon him at Medina and Fadak and what was left from one-filth of the income annually received from Khaibar. Abu Bakr said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We prophets do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is to be given in charity. The household of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ will live on the income from these properties; but; by Allah; I will not change the charity of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the condition in which it was in his own time. I will do the same with it as the Messenger of Allah may peace be upun him himself used to do. So Abu Bakr refused to hand over anything from it to Fatima who got angry with Abu Bakr for this reason. She forsook him and did not talk to him until the end of her life. She lived for six months after the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When she died; her husband. Ali Bin Abu Talib; buried her at night. He did not inform Abu Bakr about her death and offered the funeral prayer over her himself. During the lifetime of Fatima; All received special regard from the people. After she had died; he felt estrangement in the faces of the people towards him. So he sought to make peace with Abu Bakr and offer his allegiance to him. He had not yet owed allegiance to him as Caliph during these months. He sent a person to Abu Bakr requesting him to visit him unaccompanied by anyone disapproving the presence of Umar. Umar said to Abu Bakr: BY Allah; you will not visit them alone. Abu Bakr said: What will they do to me? By Allah; I will visit them. And he did pay them a visit alone. All recited Tashahhud as it is done in the beginning of a religious sermon ; then said: We recognise your moral excellence and what Allah has bestowed upon you. We do not envy the favour i. e. the Catiphate which Allah nas conferred upon you; but you have done it assumed the position of Caliph alone without consulting us ; and we thought we had a right to be consulted on account of our kinship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He continued to talk to Abu Bakr in this vein until the latter eyes welled up with tears. Then Abd Bakr spoke and said: By Allah; in Whose Hand is my life; the kinship of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is dearer to me than the kinship of my own people. As regards the dispute that has arisen between you and me about these properties; I have not deviated from the right course and I have not given up doing about them what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do. So Ali said to Abu Bakr: This aftetnoon is fixed for swearing allegiance to you. So when Abu Bakr had finished his Zuhr prayer; he ascended the pulpit and recited Tashahhud; and described the status of Ali; his delay in swearing allegiance and the excuse which lie had offered to him for this delay. After this he asked for God forgiveness. Then Ali Bin Abu Talib recited the Tashahhud. extolled the merits of Abu Bakr and said that his action was nott prompted by any jealousy of Abu Bakr on his part or his refusal to accept the high position which Allah had conferred upon him; adding: But we were of the opinion that we should have a share in the government; but the matter had been decided without taking us into confidence; and this displeased us. Hence the delay in offering allegiance. The Muslims were pleased with this explanation and they said: You have done the right thing. The Muslims were again favourably inclined to Ali since he adopted the proper course of action. The Chapter on Oaths And Pledges And Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 16 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-18044It has been narrated on the authority of Aisha that Fatima and Abbas approached Abu Bakr; soliciting transfer of the legacy of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to them. At that time; they were demanding his Holy Prophets lands at Fadak and his share from Khaibar. Abu Bakr said to them: I have heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then he quoted the hadith having nearly the same meaning as the one which has been narrated by Uqail on the authority of AlZuhri and which his gone before except that in his version he said: Then Ali stood up; extolled the merits of Abu Bakr mentioned his superiority; and his earlier acceptance of Islam. Then he walked to Abu Bakr and swore allegiance to him. At this people turned towards Ali and said: you have done the right thing. And they became favourably inclined to Ali after he had adopted the proper course of action. The Chapter on Oaths And Pledges And Islam in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 16 in Sahih Muslim

Abu Bakr said to her: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is Sadaqa charity. The narrator said: She Fatima lived six months after the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and she used to demand from Abu Bakr her share from the legacy of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Khaibar; Fadak and his charitable endowments at Medina. Abu Bakr refused to give her this; and said: I am not going to give up doing anything which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do. I am afraid that it I go against his instructions in any matter I shall deviate from the right course. So far as the charitable endowments at Medina were concerned; Umar handed them over to Ali and Abbas; but Ali got the better of him and kept the property under his exclusive possession. And as far as Khaibar and Fadak were concerned Umar kept them with him; and said: These are the endowments of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to the Umma. Their income was spent on the discharge of the responsibilities that devolved upon him on the emergencies he had to meet. And their management was to be in the hands of one who managed the affairs of the Islamic State. The narrator said: They have been managed as such up to this day.The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes And Charity in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 16 in Sahih Muslim

So the Prophet ﷺ struck them out with his own hand. He said to Ali: Write down the terms settled between us. So Ali wrote : In the name of Allah; most Gracious and most Merciful. This is what Muhammad; the Messenger of Allah; has settled with the Meccans ; The polytheists said to him: If we knew that thou art the Messenger of of Allah; we would follow you. But write: Muhammad Bin Abdullah. So he told Ali to strike out these words. Ali said: No; by Allah; I will not strike them out. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Show me their place on the parchment. So he Ali showed him their place and he the Holy Prophet struck them out; and Ali wrote: Ibn Abdullah. According to the terms of the treaty; next year the Prophet ﷺ stayed there for three days When it was the third day; they said to Ali: This is the last day according to the terms of your companion. So tell him to leave. Ali informed the Prophet ﷺ accordingly. He said: Yes; and left the city. I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ say about Ali as he left him behind in one of his campaigns that was Tabuk. Ali said to him: Allah Messenger; you leave me behind along with women and children. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said to him: Arent you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there is no prophethood after me. I gave a daughter of mine Zainab to Ab AlAs Bin Rabi; and he spoke to me and spoke the truth. Verily Fatima; the daughter of Muhammad; is a part of me and I do not approve that she may be put to any trial and by Allah; the daughter of Allah Messenger cannot be combined with the daughter of God enemy as the co-wives of one person. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: there will appear from among my community people who recite the Quran; and your recitation has no comparison with their recitation; and your prayer has no comparison with their prayer; and your fasts have no comparison with their fasts. They will recite the Quran thinking that it is beneficial for them; while it is harmful for them. Their prayer will not pass their collar-bones. They will swerve from Islam as an arrow goes through the animal shot at. If the army that is approaching them knows what reward has been decided for them at the tongue of their Prophet ﷺ ; they would leave other good activities. The sign of that is that among them there will be a man who has an upper arm; but not hand; on his upper arm there will be something like the nipple of a female breast; having white hair thereon. Will you go to Muawiyah and the people of Syria; and leave them behind among your children and property? I swear by Allah; I hope these are the same people; for they shed the blood unlawfully; and attacked the cattle of the people so go on in the name of Allah. When we fought with each other; Abdullah Bin Wahb AlRasibi; who was the leader of the Khawarij; said to them: Throw away the lances and pull out the swords from their sheaths; for I am afraid they will adjure you as they had adjured on the day of Harura. So they threw away their lances and pulled out their swords; and the people pierced them with their lances. They were killed lying one on the other. On that day only two persons of the partisans of Ali were afflicted. Ali said: Search for the man with the crippled hand. But they could not find him. Then Ali got up himself and went to the people who had been killed and were lying on one another. He said: Take them out. They found him just near the ground. So he shouted: Allah is Most Great! He said: Allah spoke the truth; and His Apostle has conveyed. Ubaidat AlSalmani stood up to him; saying: Commander of the Faithful! Have you heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? She said: The Mother of the Faithful said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came upon me while Zaynab; daughter of Jahsh; was with us. He began to do something with his hand. I signalled to him until I made him understand about her. So he stopped. Zaynab came on and began to abuse Aisha. She tried to prevent her but she did not stop. So he the Prophet said to Aisha: Abuse her. So she abused her and dominated her. Zaynab then went to Ali and said: Aisha abused you and did such and such. Then Fatimah came to the Prophet and he said to her: She is the favourite of your father; by the Lord of the Kabah! She then returned and said to them: I said to him such and such; and he said to me such and such. Then Ali came to the Prophet ﷺ and spoke to him about that. The Chapter on Mischief And Faith Sun Alfajr And Alasr in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Regarding taking revenge in Sunan Abu Dawoud
