SahihAlBukhari-017-001-077Narrated Mujahid: Somebody came to the house of Ibn Umar and told him that Allah Messenger ﷺ s had entered the Kaba. Ibn Umar said; I went in front of the Kaba and found that Allah Messenger ﷺ had come out of the Kaba and I saw Bilal standing by the side of the gate of the Kaba. I said; O Bilal! Has Allah Apostle ﷺ prayed inside the Kaba? Bilal replied in the affirmative. I said; Where did he pray ? He replied; He prayed Between these two pillars and then he came out and offered a two rakat prayer in front of the Kaba. Abu Abdullah said: Abu Huraira said; The Prophet ﷺ advised me to offer two rakat of Duha prayer prayer to be offered after sunrise and before midday. Itban bin Malik said; Allah Messenger ﷺ ﷺ and Abu Bakr; came to me after sunrise and we aligned behind the Prophet ﷺ and offered two rakat. The Chapter on The Kabah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What is recited in the two Raka Sunna of the Fajr in Sahih AlBukhari

So Allah revealed: - Verily! We have seen the turning of your face towards the heaven; surely we shall turn you to a prayer direction Qibla that shall please you. 2.144 Thus he was directed towards the Kaba. A man prayed the Asr prayer with the Prophet ﷺ and then went out; and passing by some people from the Ansar; he said; I testify. that I have prayed with the Prophet ﷺ and he the Prophet has prayed facing the Kaba. Thereupon they; who were bowing in the Asr prayer; turned towards the Kaba. The Chapter on Changing The Qiblah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Acceptance of the information given by one truthful person in about all matters in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1220Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: We were in the company of Allah Messenger ﷺ and we assumed the state of Ihram of Hajj and arrived at Mecca on the fourth of Dhu AlHijja. The Prophet ﷺ ordered us to perform the Tawaf around the Kaba and Sai between AlSafa and AlMarwa and use our lhram just for Umra; and finish the state of Ihram unless we had our Hadi with us. None of us had the Hadi with him except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha. Ali came from Yemen and brought the Hadi with him. Ali said; I had assumed the state of Ihram with the same intention as that with which Allah Messenger ﷺ had assumed it. The people said; How can we proceed to Mina and our male organs are dribbling? Allah Messenger ﷺ said; If I had formerly known what I came to know latterly; I would not have brought the Hadi; and had there been no Hadi with me; I would have finished my Ihram. Suraqa bin Malik met the Prophet ﷺ while he was throwing pebbles at the Jamrat AlAqaba; and asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Is this permitted for us only? The Prophet ﷺ replied. No; it is forever Aisha had arrived at Mecca while she was menstruating; therefore the Prophet ﷺ ordered her to perform all the ceremonies of Hajj except the Tawaf around the Kaba; and not to perform her prayers unless and until she became clean. When they encamped at AlBatha; Aisha said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You are proceeding after performing both Hajj and Umra while I am proceeding with Hajj only? So the Prophet ﷺ ordered Abdulrahman Bin Abu Bakr AlSiddiq to go with her to AlTanim; and so she performed the Umra in Dhu AlHijja after the days of the Hajj. The Chapter on Menustration In Alhajj in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If I had formerly known what I came to know recently in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1233Narrated Aisha: I asked the Prophet ﷺ about the wall outside the Kaba. Is it regarded as part of the Kaba? He replied; Yes. I said; Then why didnt the people include it in the Kaba? He said; Because your people ran short of money. I asked; Then why is its gate so high? He replied; Your people did so in order to admit to it whom they would and forbid whom they would. Were your people not still close to the period of ignorance; and were I not afraid that their hearts might deny my action; then surely I would include the wall in the Kaba and make its gate touch the ground. The Chapter on The Kabah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on What uses of AlLau are allowed in Sahih AlBukhari

I asked; Who is this man? Somebody replied; He is Messiah; son of Mary. Then I saw another man with very curly hair; blind in the right eye which looked like a protruding out grape. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2045Narrated Abu Dhar: I reached him the Prophet ﷺ while in the shade of the Kaba; he was saying; They are the losers; by the Lord of the Kaba! They are the losers; by the Lord of the Kaba! I said to myself ; What is wrong with me? Is anything improper detected in me? What is wrong with me? Then I sat beside him and he kept on saying his statement. I could not remain quiet; and Allah knows in what sorrowful state I was at that time. So I said; Who are they the losers ? Let My father and mother be sacrificed for you; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; They are the wealthy people; except the one who does like this and like this and like this i.e.; spends of his wealth in Allah Cause. The Chapter on Changing The Qiblah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on How did the oaths of the Prophet use to be in Sahih AlBukhari

There is a man who sends a Hadi to Kaba and stays in his city and requests that his Hadi camel be garlanded while he remains in a state of Ihram from that day till the people finish their Ihram after completing all the ceremonies of Hajj What do you say about it? Masruq added; I heard the clapping of her hands behind the curtain. She said; I used to twist the garlands for the Hadi of Allah Messenger ﷺ and he used to send his Hadi to Kaba but he never used to regard as unlawful what was lawful for men to do with their wives till the people returned from the Hajj. The Chapter on Almadinah And Alhajj in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If someone sends his Hadi to be slaughtered in Sahih AlBukhari

Ibn Umar said; What are they; O Ibn Juraij? He said; I see that you do not touch except the two Yemenite corners of the Kaba while performing the Tawaf : and I see you wearing the Sabtiya shoes; and I see you dyeing your hair with Sufra; and I see that when you are in Mecca; the people assume the state of Ihram on seeing the crescent on the first day of Dhu AlHijja while you do not assume the state of Ihram till the Day of Tarwiya 8th Dhu AlHijja. Abdullah Bin Umar said to him; As for the corners of the Kaba; I have not seen Allah Messenger ﷺ touching except the two Yemenite corners; As for the Sabtiya shoes; I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ wearing leather shoes that had no hair; and he used to perform the ablution while wearing them. Therefore; I like to wear such shoes. As regards dyeing with Sufra; I saw Allah Messenger ﷺ dyeing his hair with it; so I like to dye my hair with it. As regards the crescent of Dhu AlHijja ; I have not seen Allah Messenger ﷺ assuming the state of Ihram till his camel set out on the 8th of Dhu AlHijja. The Chapter on Alihram In Alhajj in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Sibtiya and other shoes in Sahih AlBukhari

Listen to what I say to you; and let me hear whatever you say; and dont go without understanding ; and start saying; Ibn Abbas said so-and-so; Ibn Abbas said soand- so; Ibn Abbas said so-and-so. He who wants to perform the Tawaf around the Kaba should go behind AlHijr i.e. a portion of the Kaba left out unroofed and do not call it AlHatim; for in the pre-Islamic period of ignorance if any man took an oath; he used to throw his whip; shoes or bow in it.The Chapter on The Kabah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on AlQasama in the PreIslamic Period of Ignorance in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3942Narrated Adi Bin Hatim: While I was in the city of the Prophet; a man came and complained to him the Prophet; of destitution and poverty. Then another man came and complained of robbery by highwaymen. The Prophet said; Adi! Have you been to AlHira? I said; I havent been to it; but I was informed about it. He said; If you should live for a long time; you will certainly see that a lady in a Howdah traveling from AlHira will safely reach Mecca and perform the Tawaf of the Kaba; fearing none but Allah. I said to myself; What will happen to the robbers of the tribe of Tai who have spread evil through out the country? The Prophet ﷺ further said. If you should live long; the treasures of Khosrau will be opened and taken as spoils. I asked; You mean Khosrau; son of Hurmuz? He said; Khosrau; son of Hurmuz; and if you should live long; you will see that one will carry a handful of gold or silver and go out looking for a person to accept it from him; but will find none to accept it from him. And any of you; when meeting Allah; will meet Him without needing an interpreter between him and Allah to interpret for him; and Allah will say to him: Didnt I send a messenger to teach you? He will say: Yes. Allah will say: Didnt I give you wealth and do you favors? He will say: Yes. Then he will look to his right and see nothing but Hell; and look to his left and see nothing but Hell. Adi further said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying; Save yourself from the Hell Fire even with half a date to be given in charity and if you do not find a half date; then with a good pleasant word. Adi added: later on I saw a lady in a Howdah traveling from AlHira till she performed the Tawaf of the Kaba; fearing none but Allah. And I was one of those who opened conquered the treasures of Khosrau; son of Hurmuz. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3976Narrated Abdullah Bin Masud: Saad Bin Muadh came to Mecca with the intention of performing Umra; and stayed at the house of Umaiya Bin Khalaf Abi Safwan; for Umaiya himself used to stay at Saad house when he passed by Medina on his way to Sham. Umaiya said to Sad; Will you wait till midday when the people are at their homes ; then you may go and perform the Tawaf round the Kaba? So; while Saad was going around the Kaba; Abu Jahl came and asked; Who is that who is performing Tawaf? Saad replied; I am Sad. Abu Jahl said; Are you circumambulating the Kaba safely although you have given refuge to Muhammad and his companions? Saad said; Yes; and they started quarreling. Umaiya said to Sad; Dont shout at Abi AlHakam i.e. Abu Jahl ; for he is chief of the valley of Mecca. Saad then said to Abu Jahl. By Allah; if you prevent me from performing the Tawaf of the Kaba; I will spoil your trade with Sham. Umaiya kept on saying to Sad; Dont raise your voice. and kept on taking hold of him. Saad became furious and said; to Umaiya ; Be away from me; for I have heard Muhammad saying that he will kill you. Umaiiya said; Will he kill me? Saad said; Yes;. Umaiya said; By Allah! When Muhammad says a thing; he never tells a lie. Umaiya went to his wife and said to her; Do you know what my brother from Yathrib i.e. Medina has said to me? She said; What has he said? He said; He claims that he has heard Muhammad claiming that he will kill me. She said; By Allah! Muhammad never tells a lie. So when the infidels started to proceed for Badr Battle and declared war against the Muslims ; his wife said to him; Dont you remember what your brother from Yathrib told you? Umaiya decided not to go but Abu Jahl said to him; You are from the nobles of the valley of Mecca ; so you should accompany us for a day or two. He went with them and thus Allah got him killed. The Chapter on Makkah And Almadinah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The signs of Prophethood in Islam in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4117Narrated AlMiswar Bin Makhrama and Marwan: whose narrations attest each other Allah Messenger ﷺ set out at the time of AlHudaibiya treaty ; and when they proceeded for a distance; he said; Khalid Bin AlWalid leading the cavalry of Quraish constituting the front of the army; is at a place called AlGhamim; so take the way on the right. By Allah; Khalid did not perceive the arrival of the Muslims till the dust arising from the march of the Muslim army reached him; and then he turned back hurriedly to inform Quraish. The Prophet ﷺ went on advancing till he reached the Thaniya i.e. a mountainous way through which one would go to them i.e. people of Quraish. The camel of the Prophet ﷺ sat down. The people tried their best to cause the camel to get up but in vain; so they said; AlQaswa i.e. the camel name has become stubborn! AlQaswa has become stubborn! The Prophet ﷺ said; AlQaswa has not become stubborn; for stubbornness is not her habit; but she was stopped by Him Who stopped the elephant. Then he said; By the Name of Him in Whose Hands my soul is; if they i.e. the Quraish infidels ask me anything which will respect the ordinances of Allah; I will grant it to them. The Prophet ﷺ then rebuked the camel and she got up. The Prophet ﷺ changed his way till he dismounted at the farthest end of AlHudaibiya at a pit i.e. well containing a little water which the people used in small amounts; and in a short while the people used up all its water and complained to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; of thirst. The Prophet ﷺ took an arrow out of his arrow-case and ordered them to put the arrow in that pit. By Allah; the water started and continued sprouting out till all the people quenched their thirst and returned with satisfaction. While they were still in that state; Budail Bin Warqa AlKhuzai came with some persons from his tribe Khuzaa and they were the advisers of Allah Messenger ﷺ who would keep no secret from him and were from the people of Tihama. Budail said; I left Kaab Bin Louai and Amir Bin Louai residing at the profuse water of AlHudaibiya and they had milch camels or their women and children with them; and will wage war against you; and will prevent you from visiting the Kaba. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; We have not come to fight anyone; but to perform the Umra. No doubt; the war has weakened Quraish and they have suffered great losses; so if they wish; I will conclude a truce with them; during which they should refrain from interfering between me and the people i.e. the Arab infidels other than Quraish ; and if I have victory over those infidels; Quraish will have the option to embrace Islam as the other people do; if they wish; they will at least get strong enough to fight. But if they do not accept the truce; by Allah in Whose Hands my life is; I will fight with them defending my Cause till I get killed; but I am sure Allah will definitely make His Cause victorious. Budail said; I will inform them of what you have said. So; he set off till he reached Quraish and said; We have come from that man i.e. Muhammad whom we heard saying something which we will disclose to you if you should like. Some of the fools among Quraish shouted that they were not in need of this information; but the wiser among them said; Relate what you heard him saying. Budail said; I heard him saying so-and-so; relating what the Prophet ﷺ had told him. Urwa Bin Masud got up and said; O people! Arent you the sons? They said; Yes. He added; Am I not the father? They said; Yes. He said; Do you mistrust me? They said; No. He said; Dont you know that I invited the people of Ukaz for your help; and when they refused I brought my relatives and children and those who obeyed me to help you ? They said; Yes. He said; Well; this man i.e. the Prophet has offered you a reasonable proposal; youd better accept it and allow me to meet him. They said; You may meet him. So; he went to the Prophet ﷺ and started talking to him. The Prophet ﷺ told him almost the same as he had told Budail. Then Urwa said; O Muhammad! Wont you feel any scruple in extirpating your relations? Have you ever heard of anyone amongst the Arabs extirpating his relatives before you? On the other hand; if the reverse should happen; nobody will aid you; for by Allah; I do not see with you dignified people; but people from various tribes who would run away leaving you alone. Hearing that; Abu Bakr abused him and said; Do you say we would run and leave the Prophet ﷺ alone? Urwa said; Who is that man? They said; He is Abu Bakr. Urwa said to Abu Bakr; By Him in Whose Hands my life is; were it not for the favor which you did to me and which I did not compensate; I would retort on you. Urwa kept on talking to the Prophet ﷺ and seizing the Prophet beard as he was talking while AlMughira Bin Shuba was standing near the head of the Prophet; holding a sword and wearing a helmet. Whenever Urwa stretched his hand towards the beard of the Prophet; AlMughira would hit his hand with the handle of the sword and say to Urwa ; Remove your hand from the beard of Allah Messenger ﷺ. Urwa raised his head and asked; Who is that? The people said; He is AlMughira Bin Shuba. Urwa said; O treacherous! Am I not doing my best to prevent evil consequences of your treachery? Before embracing Islam AlMughira was in the company of some people. He killed them and took their property and came to Medina to embrace Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said to him; As regards your Islam; I accept it; but as for the property I do not take anything of it. As it was taken through treason. Urwa then started looking at the Companions of the Prophet. By Allah; whenever Allah Messenger ﷺ spat; the spittle would fall in the hand of one of them i.e. the Prophet companions who would rub it on his face and skin; if he ordered them they would carry his orders immediately; if he performed ablution; they would struggle to take the remaining water; and when they spoke to him; they would lower their voices and would not look at his face constantly out of respect. Urwa returned to his people and said; O people! By Allah; I have been to the kings and to Caesar; Khosrau and AlNajashi; yet I have never seen any of them respected by his courtiers as much as Muhammad is respected by his companions. By Allah; if he spat; the spittle would fall in the hand of one of them i.e. the Prophet companions who would rub it on his face and skin; if he ordered them; they would carry out his order immediately; if he performed ablution; they would struggle to take the remaining water; and when they spoke; they would lower their voices and would not look at his face constantly out of respect. Urwa added; No doubt; he has presented to you a good reasonable offer; so please accept it. A man from the tribe of Bani Kinana said; Allow me to go to him; and they allowed him; and when he approached the Prophet and his companions; Allah Messenger ﷺ said; He is so-and-so who belongs to the tribe that respects the Budn i.e. camels of the sacrifice. So; bring the Budn in front of him. So; the Budn were brought before him and the people received him while they were reciting Talbiya. When he saw that scene; he said; Glorified be Allah! It is not fair to prevent these people from visiting the Kaba. When he returned to his people; he said; I saw the Budn garlanded with colored knotted ropes and marked with stabs on their backs. I do not think it is advisable to prevent them from visiting the Kaba. Another person called Mikraz Bin Hafs got up and sought their permission to go to Muhammad; and they allowed him; too. When he approached the Muslims; the Prophet ﷺ said; Here is Mikraz and he is a vicious man. Mikraz started talking to the Prophet and as he was talking; Suhail Bin Amr came. When Suhail Bin Amr came; the Prophet ﷺ said; Now the matter has become easy. Suhail said to the Prophet Please conclude a peace treaty with us. So; the Prophet ﷺ called the clerk and said to him; Write: By the Name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the most Merciful. Suhail said; As for Beneficent; by Allah; I do not know what it means. So write: By Your Name O Allah; as you used to write previously. The Muslims said; By Allah; we will not write except: By the Name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the most Merciful. The Prophet ﷺ said; Write: By Your Name O Allah. Then he dictated; This is the peace treaty which Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ has concluded. Suhail said; By Allah; if we knew that you are Allah Messenger ﷺ we would not prevent you from visiting the Kaba; and would not fight with you. So; write: Muhammad Bin Abdullah. The Prophet ﷺ said; By Allah! I am Apostle of Allah even if you people do not believe me. Write: Muhammad Bin Abdullah. AlZuhri said; The Prophet ﷺ accepted all those things; as he had already said that he would accept everything they would demand if it respects the ordinance of Allah; i.e. by letting him and his companions perform Umra. The Prophet ﷺ said to Suhail; On the condition that you allow us to visit the House i.e. Kaba so that we may perform Tawaf around it. Suhail said; By Allah; we will not allow you this year so as not to give chance to the Arabs to say that we have yielded to you; but we will allow you next year. So; the Prophet ﷺ got that written. Then Suhail said; We also stipulate that you should return to us whoever comes to you from us; even if he embraced your religion. The Muslims said; Glorified be Allah! How will such a person be returned to the pagans after he has become a Muslim? While they were in this state Abu Jandal Bin Suhail Bin Amr came from the valley of Mecca staggering with his fetters and fell down amongst the Muslims. Suhail said; O Muhammad! This is the very first term with which we make peace with you; i.e. you shall return Abu Jandal to me. The Prophet ﷺ said; The peace treaty has not been written yet. Suhail said; I will never allow you to keep him. The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes; do. He said; I wont do.: Mikraz said; We allow you to keep him. Abu Jandal said; O Muslims! Will I be returned to the pagans though I have come as a Muslim? Dont you see how much I have suffered? continued... continuing... 1 : -3.891:...... Abu Jandal had been tortured severely for the Cause of Allah. Umar Bin AlKhattab said; I went to the Prophet ﷺ and said; Arent you truly the Messenger of Allah? The Prophet ﷺ said; Yes; indeed. I said; Isnt our Cause just and the cause of the enemy unjust? He said; Yes. I said; Then why should we be humble in our religion? He said; I am Allah Messenger ﷺ and I do not disobey Him; and He will make me victorious. I said; Didnt you tell us that we would go to the Kaba and perform Tawaf around it? He said; Yes; but did I tell you that we would visit the Kaba this year? I said; No. He said; So you will visit it and perform Tawaf around it? Umar further said; I went to Abu Bakr and said; O Abu Bakr! Isnt he truly Allah Prophet? He replied; Yes. I said; Then why should we be humble in our religion? He said; Indeed; he is Allah Messenger ﷺ and he does not disobey his Lord; and He will make him victorious. Adhere to him as; by Allah; he is on the right. I said; Was he not telling us that we would go to the Kaba and perform Tawaf around it? He said; Yes; but did he tell you that you would go to the Kaba this year? I said; No. He said; You will go to Kaba and perform Tawaf around it. AlZuhri said; Umar said; I performed many good deeds as expiation for the improper questions I asked them. When the writing of the peace treaty was concluded; Allah Messenger ﷺ said to his companions; Get up and slaughter your sacrifices and get your head shaved. By Allah none of them got up; and the Prophet repeated his order thrice. When none of them got up; he left them and went to Umm Salamah and told her of the people attitudes towards him. Umm Salamah said; O the Prophet ﷺ of Allah! Do you want your order to be carried out? Go out and dont say a word to anybody till you have slaughtered your sacrifice and call your barber to shave your head. So; the Prophet ﷺ went out and did not talk to anyone of them till he did that; i.e. slaughtered the sacrifice and called his barber who shaved his head. Seeing that; the companions of the Prophet ﷺ got up; slaughtered their sacrifices; and started shaving the heads of one another; and there was so much rush that there was a danger of killing each other. Then some believing women came to the Prophet ﷺ ; and Allah revealed the following Divine Verses:- O you who believe; when the believing women come to you as emigrants examine them... 60.10 Umar then divorced two wives of his who were infidels. Later on Muawiya Bin Abu Sufyan married one of them; and Safwan Bin Umaiya married the other. When the Prophet ﷺ returned to Medina; Abu Basir; a new Muslim convert from Quraish came to him. The Infidels sent in his pursuit two men who said to the Prophet ﷺ ; Abide by the promise you gave us. So; the Prophet ﷺ handed him over to them. They took him out of the City till they reached Dhu AlHulaifa where they dismounted to eat some dates they had with them. Abu Basir said to one of them; By Allah; O so-and-so; I see you have a fine sword. The other drew it out of the scabbard and said; By Allah; it is very fine and I have tried it many times. Abu Basir said; Let me have a look at it. When the other gave it to him; he hit him with it till he died; and his companion ran away till he came to Medina and entered the Masjid running. When Allah Messenger ﷺ saw him he said; This man appears to have been frightened. When he reached the Prophet ﷺ he said; My companion has been murdered and I would have been murdered too. Abu Basir came and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ; by Allah; Allah has made you fulfill your obligations by your returning me to them i.e. the Infidels ; but Allah has saved me from them. The Prophet ﷺ said; Woe to his mother! what excellent war kindler he would be; should he only have supporters. When Abu Basir heard that he understood that the Prophet ﷺ would return him to them again; so he set off till he reached the seashore. Abu Jandal Bin Suhail got himself released from them i.e. infidels and joined Abu Basir. So; whenever a man from Quraish embraced Islam he would follow Abu Basir till they formed a strong group. By Allah; whenever they heard about a caravan of Quraish heading towards Sham; they stopped it and attacked and killed them i.e. infidels and took their properties. The people of Quraish sent a message to the Prophet ﷺ requesting him for the Sake of Allah and Kith and kin to send for i.e. Abu Basir and his companions promising that whoever amongst them came to the Prophet ﷺ would be secure. So the Prophet ﷺ sent for them i.e. Abu Basir companions and Allah I revealed the following Divine Verses: And it is He Who Has withheld their hands from you and your hands From them in the midst of Mecca; After He made you the victorious over them.... the unbelievers had pride and haughtiness; in their hearts... the pride and haughtiness of the time of ignorance. 48.24-26 And their pride and haughtiness was that they did not confess write in the treaty that he i.e. Muhammad was the Prophet of Allah and refused to write: In the Name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the Most Merciful; and they the mushriks prevented them the Muslims from visiting the House the Kabah. The Chapter on Quraish Arab Tribe in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The conditions of Jihad and peace treaties in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4165Narrated Ibn Abbas: The first lady to use a girdle was the mother of Ishmael. She used a girdle so that she might hide her tracks from Sarah. Abraham brought her and her son Ishmael while she was suckling him; to a place near the Kaba under a tree on the spot of Zamzam; at the highest place in the Masjid. During those days there was nobody in Mecca; nor was there any water So he made them sit over there and placed near them a leather bag containing some dates; and a small water-skin containing some water; and set out homeward. Ishmael mother followed him saying; O Abraham! Where are you going; leaving us in this valley where there is no person whose company we may enjoy; nor is there anything to enjoy ? She repeated that to him many times; but he did not look back at her Then she asked him; Has Allah ordered you to do so? He said; Yes. She said; Then He will not neglect us; and returned while Abraham proceeded onwards; and on reaching the Thaniya where they could not see him; he faced the Kaba; and raising both hands; invoked Allah saying the following prayers: O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring dwell in a valley without cultivation; by Your Sacred House Kaba at Mecca in order; O our Lord; that they may offer prayer perfectly. So fill some hearts among men with love towards them; and O Allah provide them with fruits; so that they may give thanks. 14.37 Ishmael mother went on suckling Ishmael and drinking from the water she had. When the water in the water-skin had all been used up; she became thirsty and her child also became thirsty. She started looking at him i.e. Ishmael tossing in agony; She left him; for she could not endure looking at him; and found that the mountain of Safa was the nearest mountain to her on that land. She stood on it and started looking at the valley keenly so that she might see somebody; but she could not see anybody. Then she descended from Safa and when she reached the valley; she tucked up her robe and ran in the valley like a person in distress and trouble; till she crossed the valley and reached the Marwa mountain where she stood and started looking; expecting to see somebody; but she could not see anybody. She repeated that running between Safa and Marwa seven times. The Prophet ﷺ said; This is the source of the tradition of the walking of people between them i.e. Safa and Marwa. When she reached the Marwa for the last time she heard a voice and she asked herself to be quiet and listened attentively. She heard the voice again and said; O; whoever you may be ! You have made me hear your voice; have you got something to help me? And behold! She saw an angel at the place of Zamzam; digging the earth with his heel or his wing ; till water flowed from that place. She started to make something like a basin around it; using her hand in this way; and started filling her water-skin with water with her hands; and the water was flowing out after she had scooped some of it. The Prophet ﷺ added; May Allah bestow Mercy on Ishmael mother! Had she let the Zamzam flow without trying to control it or had she not scooped from that water to fill her water-skin ; Zamzam would have been a stream flowing on the surface of the earth. The Prophet ﷺ further added; Then she drank water and suckled her child. The angel said to her; Dont be afraid of being neglected; for this is the House of Allah which will be built by this boy and his father; and Allah never neglects His people. The House i.e. Kaba at that time was on a high place resembling a hillock; and when torrents came; they flowed to its right and left. She lived in that way till some people from the tribe of Jurhum or a family from Jurhum passed by her and her child; as they i.e. the Jurhum people were coming through the way of Kada. They landed in the lower part of Mecca where they saw a bird that had the habit of flying around water and not leaving it. They said; This bird must be flying around water; though we know that there is no water in this valley. They sent one or two messengers who discovered the source of water; and returned to inform them of the water. So; they all came towards the water. The Prophet ﷺ added; Ishmael mother was sitting near the water. They asked her; Do you allow us to stay with you? She replied; Yes; but you will have no right to possess the water. They agreed to that. The Prophet ﷺ further said; Ishmael mother was pleased with the whole situation as she used to love to enjoy the company of the people. So; they settled there; and later on they sent for their families who came and settled with them so that some families became permanent residents there. The child i.e. Ishmael grew up and learnt Arabic from them and his virtues caused them to love and admire him as he grew up; and when he reached the age of puberty they made him marry a woman from amongst them. After Ishmael mother had died; Abraham came after Ishmael marriage in order to see his family that he had left before; but he did not find Ishmael there. When he asked Ishmael wife about him; she replied; He has gone in search of our livelihood. Then he asked her about their way of living and their condition; and she replied; We are living in misery; we are living in hardship and destitution; complaining to him. He said; When your husband returns; convey my salutation to him and tell him to change the threshold of the gate of his house. When Ishmael came; he seemed to have felt something unusual; so he asked his wife; Has anyone visited you? She replied; Yes; an old man of so-and-so description came and asked me about you and I informed him; and he asked about our state of living; and I told him that we were living in a hardship and poverty. On that Ishmael said; Did he advise you anything? She replied; Yes; he told me to convey his salutation to you and to tell you to change the threshold of your gate. Ishmael said; It was my father; and he has ordered me to divorce you. Go back to your family. So; Ishmael divorced her and married another woman from amongst them i.e. Jurhum. Then Abraham stayed away from them for a period as long as Allah wished and called on them again but did not find Ishmael. So he came to Ishmael wife and asked her about Ishmael. She said; He has gone in search of our livelihood. Abraham asked her; How are you getting on? asking her about their sustenance and living. She replied; We are prosperous and well-off i.e. we have everything in abundance. Then she thanked Allah Abraham said; What kind of food do you eat? She said. Meat. He said; What do you drink? She said; Water. He said; O Allah! Bless their meat and water. The Prophet added; At that time they did not have grain; and if they had grain; he would have also invoked Allah to bless it. The Prophet ﷺ added; If somebody has only these two things as his sustenance; his health and disposition will be badly affected; unless he lives in Mecca. The Prophet ﷺ added; Then Abraham said Ishmael wife; When your husband comes; give my regards to him and tell him that he should keep firm the threshold of his gate. When Ishmael came back; he asked his wife; Did anyone call on you? She replied; Yes; a good-looking old man came to me; so she praised him and added. He asked about you; and I informed him; and he asked about our livelihood and I told him that we were in a good condition. Ishmael asked her; Did he give you any piece of advice? She said; Yes; he told me to give his regards to you and ordered that you should keep firm the threshold of your gate. On that Ishmael said; It was my father; and you are the threshold of the gate. He has ordered me to keep you with me. Then Abraham stayed away from them for a period as long as Allah wished; and called on them afterwards. He saw Ishmael under a tree near Zamzam; sharpening his arrows. When he saw Abraham; he rose up to welcome him and they greeted each other as a father does with his son or a son does with his father. Abraham said; O Ishmael! Allah has given me an order. Ishmael said; Do what your Lord has ordered you to do. Abraham asked; Will you help me? Ishmael said; I will help you. Abraham said; Allah has ordered me to build a house here; pointing to a hillock higher than the land surrounding it. The Prophet ﷺ added; Then they raised the foundations of the House i.e. the Kaba. Ishmael brought the stones and Abraham was building; and when the walls became high; Ishmael brought this stone and put it for Abraham who stood over it and carried on building; while Ishmael was handing him the stones; and both of them were saying; O our Lord! Accept this service from us; Verily; You are the All-Hearing; the All-Knowing. The Prophet ﷺ added; Then both of them went on building and going round the Kaba saying: O our Lord ! Accept this service from us; Verily; You are the All-Hearing; the All-Knowing. 2.127The Chapter on Allah And Prophets Ismail And Abraham in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on And Allah Statement hastening in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4232Narrated Abdullah: The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the Masih AlDajjal in front of the people saying; Allah is not one-eyed while Masih AlDajjal is blind in the right eye and his eye looks like a bulging out grape. While sleeping near the Kaba last night; I saw in my dream a man of brown color the best one can see amongst brown color and his hair was long that it fell between his shoulders. His hair was lank and water was dribbling from his head and he was placing his hands on the shoulders of two men while circumambulating the Kaba. I asked; Who is this? They replied; This is Jesus; son of Mary. Behind him I saw a man who had very curly hair and was blind in the right eye; resembling Ibn Qatan i.e. an infidel in appearance. He was placing his hands on the shoulders of a person while performing Tawaf around the Kaba. I asked; Who is this? Bilal and Uthman Bin Talha ; one of the servants of the Kaba; were also accompanying him till he made his camel kneel in the Masjid and ordered the latter to bring the key of the Kaba. SahihMuslim-017-001-18086It has been narrated by Abdullah Bin Rabah from Abu Huraira; who said: Many deputations came to Muawiya. This was in the month of Ramadan. We would prepare food for one another. Abu Huraira was one of those who frequently invited us to his house. I said: Should I not prepare food and invite them to my place? So I ordered meals to be prepared Then I met Abu Huraira in the evening and said: You will have your meals with me tonight. He said: You have forestalled me. I said: Yes; and invited them. When they had finished with the meals Abu Huraira said: Should I not tell yon a tradition from your traditions; O ye assembly of the Ansar? He then gave an account of the Conquest of Mecca and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ advanced until he reached Mecca. He deputed AlZubair on his right flank and Khalid on the left; and he despatched Abu Ubaida with the force that had no armour. They advanced to the interior of the valley. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in the midst of a large contingent of fighters. He saw me and said: Abu Huraira. I said: I am here at your call; Messenger of Allah I He said: Let no one come to me except the Ansar; so call to me the Ansar only. Abu Huraira continued: So they gathered round him. The Quraish also gathered their ruffians and their lowly followers; and said: We send these forward. If they get anything; we shall be with them to share it ; and if misfortune befalls them; we shall pay as compensation whatever we are asked for. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the Ansar : You see the ruffians and the lowly followers of the Quraish. And he indicated by striking one of his hands over the other that they should be killed and said: Meet me at AlSafa. Then we went on and if any one of us wanted that a certain person should be killed; he was killed; and none could offer any resistance. Abu Huraira continued: Then came Abu Sufyan and said: Messenger of Allah; the blood of the Quraish has become very cheap. There will be no Quraish from this day on. Then he the Holy Prophet said: Who enters the house of Abu Sufyan; he will be safe. Some of the Ansar whispered among themselves: After all ; love for his city and tenderness towards his relations have overpowered him. Abu Huraira said: At this moment revelation came to the Prophet ﷺ and when he was going to receive the Revelation; we understood it; and when he was actually receiving it; none of us would dare raise his eyes to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until the revelation came to an end. When the revelation came to an end; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O ye Assembly of the Ansar! They said: Here we are at your disposal; Messenger of Allah. He said: You were saying that love for his city and tenderness towards his people have overpowered this man. They said: So it was. He said: No; never. I am a bondman of God and His Messenger. I migrated towards God and towards you. I will live with you and will die with you. So; they the Ansar turned towards him in tears and they were saying: By Allah; we said what we said because of our tenacious attachment to Allah and His Messenger. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Surely; Allah and His Messenger testify to your assertions and accept your apology. The narrator continued: People turned to the house of Abu Sufyan and people locked their doors. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ proceeded until he approached the Black Stone. He kissed it and circumambulated the Kaba. He reached near an idol by the side of the Kaba which was worshipped by the people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a bow in his hand; and he was holding it from a corner. When he came near the idol; he began to pierce its eyes with the bow and while doing so was saying: Truth has been established and falsehood has perished. When he had finished the circumambulation; he came to Safa; ascended it to a height from where he could see the Kaba; raised his hands in prayer and began to praise Allah and prayed what he wanted to pray. The Chapter on Alansar And Quraish in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 31 in Sahih Muslim

I was with him the Holy Prophet when the infidels of Quraish caused obstructions between him the Holy Prophet and the House. I call you as my witness to the fact that I have made Umra essential for me. He proceeded until he came to Dhu AlHulaifa and pronounced Talbiya for Umra; and said: If the way Is clear forme; I would then complete my Umra but If there is some obstruction between me and that the Kaba. He then moved on until he came to the rear side of AlBaida and said: There is one command for both of them automatically Hajj and Umra. I am performing Hajj and Umra as Qiran. Thereupon he said: It is indeed unfortunate that he makes such an assertion. That person Iraqi then met me and he asked me and I narrated to him the reply of Urwa ; whereupon he the Iraqi said: Tell him Urwa that a person had informed him that Allah Messenger ﷺ had done that; and why is it that Asma and AlZubair have done like this? He Muhammad Bin Abdulrahman said: I went to him and made a mention of that to him; whereupon he Urwa said: Who is he the Iraqi ? I said: I do not know; whereupon he said: What is the matter that he does not come to me himself and ask me? I suppose he is an Iraqi. I said: I do not know; whereupon he said: He has told a lie. Allah Messenger ﷺ performed Hajj; and Aisha Allah be pleased with her has told me that the first thing with which he commenced the rituals when he arrived at Mecca was that he performed ablution and then circumambulated the Kaba. Then Abu Bakr performed Hajj and the first thing with which he commenced the Hajj as the circumambulation of the Kaba and nothing besides it. So did Umar. Then Uthman performed Hajj and I saw that the first thing with which he commenced the Hajj was the circumambulation of the Kaba and nothing besides it. Then Muawiya and Abdullah Bin Umar did that. Then I performed Hajj with my father AlZubair Bin AlAwam; and the first thing with which he commenced Hajj was the circumambulation of the House. He then did nothing besides it. I then saw the emigrants Muhajirin and the helpers Ansar doing like this and nothing besides it. And the last one whom I saw doing like this was Ibn Umar. And he did not break it the Hajj after performing Umra. And Ibn Umar is with them. Why dont they ask him to testify it ? And none amongst those who had passed away commenced the rituals of Hajj but by circumambulating the Kaba on their first arrival and they did not put off Ihram without completing the Hajj ; and I saw my mother and my aunt commencing their Hajj with the circumambulation of the House; and they did not put off Ihram. My mother informed me that she came and her sister; and AlZubair and so and so for Umra; and when they had kissed the corner the Black Stone; after Sai and circumambulation ; they put off Ihram. SahihMuslim-017-001-23157Ata reported: The House was burnt during the time of Yazid Bin Muawiya when the people of Syria had fought in Mecca. And it happened with it the Kaba what was in store for it. Ibn AlZubair Allah be pleased with him felt it in the same state until the people came in the season of Hajj. The idea behind was that he wanted to exhort them or incite them to war against the people of Syria. When the people had arrived he said to them: O people; advise me about the Kaba. Should I demolish it and then build it from its very foundation; or should I repair whatever has been damaged of it? Ibn Abbas said: An idea has occurred to me according to which I think that you should only repair the portion which has been damaged; and leave the House in that very state in which people embraced Islam and leave those very stones in the same state when people embraced Islam; and over which Allah Apostle ﷺ had raised it. Thereupon Ibn AlZubair said: It the house of any one of you is burnt; he would not be contented until he had reconstructed it; then what about the House of your Lord which is far more Important than your house ? I would seek good advice from my Lord thrice and then I would make up my mind about this affair. After seeking good advice thrice; he made up his mind to demolish it. The people apprehended that calamity might fall from heaven on those persons who would be first to climb over the building for the purpose of demolishing it ; till one took up courage; and ascended the roof ; and threw down one of its stones. When the people saw no calamity befalling him; they followed him; demolished it until it was razed to the ground. Then Ibn AlZubair erected pillars and hung cartains on them in order to provide facilities to the people for observing the time of its construction. And the walls were raised; and Ibn AlZubair said: I heard Aisha Allah be pleased with her say that Allah Apostle ﷺ had observed: If the people had Rot recently abandoned unbelief; find I had means enough to reconstruct it; which I had not; I would have definitely excompassed in it five cubits of area from Hijr. And I would also have constructed a door for the people to enter; and a door for their exit. I today have the means to spend and I entertain no fearfrom the side of people that they would protest against this change. So he added five cubits of area from the side of Hatim to it that there appeared the old foundation upon which Hadrat Ibrahim had built the Kaba. and the people saw that and it was upon this foundation that the wall was raised. The length of the Kaba was eighteen cubits. when addition was made to it which was in its breadth ; then naturally the length appears to be small as compared with its breadth. Then addition of ten cubits of area was made in its length also. Two doors were also constructed; one of which was meant for entrance and the other one for exit. When Ibn AlZubair Allah be pleased with him was killed; AlHajjaj wrote to Abd AlMalik Bin Marwan informing him about it; and telling him that Ibn AlZubair Allah be pleased with him had built the Kaba on those very foundations which were laid by Ibrahim and which reliable persons among the Meccans had seen. Abd AlMalik wrote to him: We are not concerned with the censuring of Ibn AlZubair in anything. Keep intact the addition made by him in the side of length; and whatever he has added frem the side of Hijr revert to its previous foundation; and wall up the door which he had opened. Thus AlHajjaj at the command of Abd AlMalik demolished it that portion and rebuilt it on its previous foundations. The Chapter on Kabah Door in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 69 in Sahih Muslim

MuwataMalik-017-001-34700Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; I dreamt at night that I was at the Kaba; and I saw a dark man like the most handsome of dark men you have ever seen. He had hair reaching to between his ears and his shoulders like the most excellent of such hair that you have seen. He had combed his hair; and water was dripping from it. He was leaning on two men or on the shoulders of two men doing tawaf around Kaba. I asked; Who is this? It was said; AlMasih Ibn Maryam. Then we were with a man with wiry hair and blind in his right eye; as if it was a floating grape. I asked Who is this? It was said to me; This is AlMasih AlDajjal. The Chapter on Grooming The Man in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Purity in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-35839Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Salim Ibn Abdullah that Abdullah Ibn Muhammad Ibn Abi Bakras-Siddiq told Abdullah Ibn Umar from Aisha; that the Prophet; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; Dont you see that when your people built the Kaba they fell short of the foundations of Ibrahim? Aisha said; Messenger of Allah; wont you return it to the foundations of Ibrahim? and the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; said; If it were not that your people have only recently left kufr; I would have done so. Salim Ibn Abdullah said that Abdullah Ibn Umar said; If Aisha heard this from the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; then I consider that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; only refrained from greeting the two corners which are adjacent to the Hijr because the House had not been completed on the foundations of Ibrahim. i.e. the corners he did not touch were not the original corners of the Kaba. The Chapter on Peace And Mercy in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Hajj in Muwata Malik
