And if they turn away, be assured that for some of their crime it is Allah's purpose to punish them. And truly most men are rebellious.

His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.

For them will the reckoning be terrible: their abode will be Hell, - what a bed of misery!

If thou after the knowledge hath reached thee, Wert to follow their (vain) desires, -then wert thou Indeed (clearly) in the wrong.

If they bring such witnesses, be not thou amongst them: Nor follow thou the vain desires of such as treat our signs as falsehoods, and such as believe not in the Hereafter: for they hold others as equal with their Guardian-Lord.

Allah has, knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart (and understanding), and put a cover on his sight. Who, then, will guide him after Allah (has withdrawn Guidance)? Will ye not then receive admonition?

Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said to that desert Arab: Do not narrate to the people the vain sporting of satan with you in your sleep and the narrator also said: I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ in his subsequent address: None amongst you should narrate the vain sporting of devil with him in the dream. He replied: Abdullah Ibn Amr; if you fight with endurance seeking from Allah your reward; Allah will resurrect you showing endurance and seeking your reward from Him; but; if you fight for vain show seeking to acquire much; Allah will resurrect you making a vain show and seeking to acquire much. In whatever you fight or are killed; Abdullah Ibn Amr; in that state Allah will resurrect you.
