Surat AlShura Ayah 21Surat AlShura-0.6347أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ شَرَعُوا لَهُمْ مِنَ الدِّينِ مَا لَمْ يَأْذَنْ بِهِ اللَّهُ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةُ الْفَصْلِ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌWhat! have they partners (in godhead), who have established for them some religion without the permission of Allah? Had it not been for the Decree of Judgment, the matter would have been decided between them (at once). But verily the Wrong-doers will have a grievous Penalty.
Surat AlQasas Ayah 15Surat AlQasas-0.4745وَدَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ عَلَى حِينِ غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلَانِ هَذَا مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ وَهَذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ فَاسْتَغَاثَهُ الَّذِي مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ عَلَى الَّذِي مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ فَوَكَزَهُ مُوسَى فَقَضَى عَلَيْهِ قَالَ هَذَا مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ مُضِلٌّ مُبِينٌAnd he entered the city at a time when its people were not watching: and he found there two men fighting, - one of his own religion, and the other, of his foes. Now the man of his own religion appealed to him against his foe, and Moses struck him with his fist and made an end of him. He said: "This is a work of Evil (Satan): for he is an enemy that manifestly misleads!"

Surat AlAnam Ayah 70Surat AlAnam-0.3967وَذَرِ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَعِبًا وَلَهْوًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَذَكِّرْ بِهِ أَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلِيٌّ وَلَا شَفِيعٌ وَإِنْ تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍ لَا يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَا أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ أُبْسِلُوا بِمَا كَسَبُوا لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَLeave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except Allah: if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting Allah.

He said: "What! even though we do detest (them)?

Surat AlMaidah Ayah 3Surat AlMaidah-0.2112حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ الْخِنْزِيرِ وَمَا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ بِهِ وَالْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَالْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَالْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَالنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَا أَكَلَ السَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ وَأَنْ تَسْتَقْسِمُوا بِالْأَزْلَامِ ذَلِكُمْ فِسْقٌ الْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ دِينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِ الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ دِينًا فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ فِي مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِإِثْمٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌForbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah; that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly) eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form); that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden) also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
Surat Alaaraf Ayah 51Surat Alaaraf-0.237الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ نَنْسَاهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا لِقَاءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَذَا وَمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ"Such as took their religion to be mere amusement and play, and were deceived by the life of the world." That day shall We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they were wont to reject Our signs.
Surat AlMaidah Ayah 57Surat AlMaidah-0.18112يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَكُمْ هُزُوًا وَلَعِبًا مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ وَالْكُفَّارَ أَوْلِيَاءَ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَO ye who believe! take not for friends and protectors those who take your religion for a mockery or sport, - whether among those who received the Scripture before you, or among those who reject Faith; but fear ye Allah, if ye have faith (indeed).
Surat AlTaubah Ayah 122Surat AlTaubah-0.18113وَمَا كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لِيَنْفِرُوا كَافَّةً فَلَوْلَا نَفَرَ مِنْ كُلِّ فِرْقَةٍ مِنْهُمْ طَائِفَةٌ لِيَتَفَقَّهُوا فِي الدِّينِ وَلِيُنْذِرُوا قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُوا إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَNor should the Believers all go forth together: if a contingent from every expedition remained behind, they could devote themselves to studies in religion, and admonish the people when they return to them, - that thus they (may learn) to guard themselves (against evil).

Surat AlAnam Ayah 137Surat AlAnam-0.1767وَكَذَلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٍ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَتْلَ أَوْلَادِهِمْ شُرَكَاؤُهُمْ لِيُرْدُوهُمْ وَلِيَلْبِسُوا عَلَيْهِمْ دِينَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَEven so, in the eyes of most of the pagans, their "partners" made alluring the slaughter of their children, in order to lead them to their own destruction, and cause confusion in their religion. If Allah had willed, they would not have done so: But leave alone them and their inventions.

Surat AlNoor Ayah 55Surat AlNoor-0.028102وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَى لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا يَعْبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا وَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَAllah has promised, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that He will, of a surety, grant them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to those before them; that He will establish in authority their religion - the one which He has chosen for them; and that He will change (their state), after the fear in which they (lived), to one of security and peace: 'They will worship Me (alone) and not associate aught with Me. 'If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked.
Surat AlJathiya Ayah 17Surat AlJathiya-0.02862وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ بَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوا إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَAnd We granted them Clear Signs in affairs (of Religion): it was only after knowledge had been granted to them that they fell into schisms, through insolent envy among themselves. Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment as to those matters in which they set up differences.
Surat AlAnfal Ayah 72Surat AlAnfal-0.02488إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالَّذِينَ آوَوْا وَنَصَرُوا أُولَئِكَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَمْ يُهَاجِرُوا مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ وَلَايَتِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى يُهَاجِرُوا وَإِنِ اسْتَنْصَرُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ فَعَلَيْكُمُ النَّصْرُ إِلَّا عَلَى قَوْمٍ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ مِيثَاقٌ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌThose who believed, and adopted exile, and fought for the Faith, with their property and their persons, in the cause of Allah, as well as those who gave (them) asylum and aid, - these are (all) friends and protectors, one of another. As to those who believed but came not into exile, ye owe no duty of protection to them until they come into exile; but if they seek your aid in religion, it is your duty to help them, except against a people with whom ye have a treaty of mutual alliance. And (remember) Allah seeth all that ye do.

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-072Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: The Prophet ﷺ used to teach us the way of doing Istikhara Istikhara means to ask Allah to guide one to the right sort of action concerning any job or a deed ; in all matters as he taught us the Suras of the Quran. He said; If anyone of you thinks of doing any job he should offer a two rakat prayer other than the compulsory ones and say after the prayer : O Allah! I ask guidance from Your knowledge; And Power from Your Might and I ask for Your great blessings. You are capable and I am not. You know and I do not and You know the unseen. O Allah! If You know that this job is good for my religion and my subsistence and in my Hereafter- or said: If it is better for my present and later needs -Then You ordain it for me and make it easy for me to get; And then bless me in it; and if You know that this job is harmful to me In my religion and subsistence and in the Hereafter- or said: If it is worse for my present and later needs -Then keep it away from me and let me be away from it. And ordain for me whatever is good for me; And make me satisfied with it. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-1025Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah: AlSalami: Allah Messenger ﷺ used to teach his companions to perform the prayer of Istikhara for each and every matter just as he used to teach them the Suras from the Quran He used to say; If anyone of you intends to do some thing; he should offer a two rakat prayer other than the compulsory prayers; and after finishing it; he should say: O Allah! I consult You; for You have all knowledge; and appeal to You to support me with Your Power and ask for Your Bounty; for You are able to do things while I am not; and You know while I do not; and You are the Knower of the Unseen. O Allah If You know It this matter name your matter is good for me both at present and in the future; or in my religion ; in my this life and in the Hereafter; then fulfill it for me and make it easy for me; and then bestow Your Blessings on me in that matter. O Allah! If You know that this matter is not good for me in my religion; in my this life and in my coming Hereafter or at present or in the future ; then divert me from it and choose for me what is good wherever it may be; and make me be pleased with it. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-294Narrated Saeed Bin AlMusaiyab from his father: When the time of the death of Abu Talib approached; Allah Messenger ﷺ went to him and found Abu Jahl Bin Hisham and Abdullah Bin Abi Umaiya Bin AlMughira by his side. Allah Messenger ﷺ said to Abu Talib; O uncle! Say: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah; a sentence with which I shall be a witness i.e. argue for you before Allah. Abu Jahl and Abdullah Bin Abi Umaiya said; O Abu Talib! Are you going to denounce the religion of Abdul Muttalib? Allah Messenger ﷺ kept on inviting Abu Talib to say it i.e. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah while they Abu Jahl and Abdullah kept on repeating their statement till Abu Talib said as his last statement that he was on the religion of Abdul Muttalib and refused to say; None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; I will keep on asking Allah forgiveness for you unless I am forbidden by Allah to do so. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3690Narrated Ibn Umar: Zaid Bin Amr Bin Nufail went to Sham; inquiring about a true religion to follow. He met a Jewish religious scholar and asked him about their religion. He said; I intend to embrace your religion; so tell me some thing about it. The Jew said; You will not embrace our religion unless you receive your share of Allah Anger. Zaid said; I do not run except from Allah Anger; and I will never bear a bit of it if I have the power to avoid it. Can you tell me of some other religion? He said; I do not know any other religion except the Hanif. Zaid enquired; What is Hanif? He said; Hanif is the religion of the prophet Abraham who was neither a Jew nor a Christian; and he used to worship None but Allah Alone Then Zaid went out and met a Christian religious scholar and told him the same as before. The Christian said; You will not embrace our religion unless you get a share of Allah Curse. Zaid replied; I do not run except from Allah Curse; and I will never bear any of Allah Curse and His Anger if I have the power to avoid them. Will you tell me of some other religion? He replied; I do not know any other religion except Hanif. Zaid enquired; What is Hanif? He sat down with a red face and said; A believer among those who were before you used to be combed with iron combs so that nothing of his flesh or nerves would remain on his bones; yet that would never make him desert his religion. A saw might be put over the parting of his head which would be split into two parts; yet all that would never make him abandon his religion. Allah will surely complete this religion i.e. Islam so that a traveler from Sana to Hadra-maut will not be afraid of anybody except Allah. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3747Narrated AlMusaiyab: When Abu Talib was in his death bed; the Prophet ﷺ went to him while Abu Jahl was sitting beside him. The Prophet ﷺ said; O my uncle! Say: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah; an expression I will defend your case with; before Allah. Abu Jahl and Abdullah Bin Umaiya said; O Abu Talib! Will you leave the religion of Abdul Muttalib? So they kept on saying this to him so that the last statement he said to them before he died was: I am on the religion of Abdul Muttalib. Then the Prophet said; I will keep on asking for Allah Forgiveness for you unless I am forbidden to do so. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4610Narrated Abdullah Bin Abbas: Allah Messenger ﷺ wrote to Caesar and invited him to Islam and sent him his letter with Dihya AlKalbi whom Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered to hand it over to the Governor of Busra who would forward it to Caesar. Caesar as a sign of gratitude to Allah; had walked from Hims to Ilya i.e. Jerusalem when Allah had granted Him victory over the Persian forces. So; when the letter of Allah Messenger ﷺ reached Caesar; he said after reading it; Seek for me any one of his people! Arabs of Quraish tribe if present here; in order to ask him about Allah Messenger ﷺ. At that time Abu Sufyan Bin Harb was in Sham with some men frown Quraish who had come to Sham as merchants during the truce that had been concluded between Allah Messenger ﷺ ; and the infidels of Quraish. Abu Sufyan said; Caesar messenger found us somewhere in Sham so he took me and my companions to Ilya and we were admitted into Ceasar court to find him sitting in his royal court wearing a crown and surrounded by the senior dignitaries of the Byzantine. He said to his translator. Ask them who amongst them is a close relation to the man who claims to be a prophet. Abu Sufyan added; I replied; I am the nearest relative to him. He asked; What degree of relationship do you have with him? I replied; He is my cousin; and there was none of Bani Abu Manaf in the caravan except myself. Caesar said; Let him come nearer. He then ordered that my companions stand behind me near my shoulder and said to his translator; Tell his companions that I am going to ask this man about the man who claims to be a prophet. If he tells a lie; they should contradict him immediately. Abu Sufyan added; By Allah! Had it not been shameful that my companions label me a liar; I would not have spoken the truth about him when he asked me. But I considered it shameful to be called a liar by my companions. So I told the truth. He then said to his translator; Ask him what kind of family does he belong to. I replied; He belongs to a noble family amongst us. He said; Have anybody else amongst you ever claimed the same before him? I replied; No. He said; Had you ever blamed him for telling lies before he claimed what he claimed? I replied; No. He said; Was anybody amongst his ancestors a king? I replied; No. He said; Do the noble or the poor follow him? I replied; It is the poor who follow him. He said; Are they increasing or decreasing day by day ? I replied; They are increasing. He said; Does anybody amongst those who embrace his the Prophets Religion become displeased and then discard his Religion?. I replied; No. He said; Does he break his promises? I replied; No; but we are now at truce with him and we are afraid that he may betray us. Abu Sufyan added; Other than the last sentence; I could not say anything against him. Caesar then asked; Have you ever had a war with him? I replied; Yes. He said; What was the outcome of your battles with him? I replied; The result was unstable; sometimes he was victorious and sometimes we. He said; What does he order you to do? I said; He tells us to worship Allah alone; and not to worship others along with Him; and to leave all that our fore-fathers used to worship. He orders us to pray; give in charity; be chaste; keep promises and return what is entrusted to us. When I had said that; Caesar said to his translator; Say to him: I ask you about his lineage and your reply was that he belonged to a noble family. In fact; all the apostles came from the noblest lineage of their nations. Then I questioned you whether anybody else amongst you had claimed such a thing; and your reply was in the negative. If the answer had been in the affirmative; I would have thought that this man was following a claim that had been said before him. When I asked you whether he was ever blamed for telling lies; your reply was in the negative; so I took it for granted that a person who did not tell a lie about others the people could never tell a lie about Allah. Then I asked you whether any of his ancestors was a king. Your reply was in the negative; and if it had been in the affirmative; I would have thought that this man wanted to take back his ancestral kingdom. When I asked you whether the rich or the poor people followed him; you replied that it was the poor who followed him. In fact; such are the followers of the apostles. Then I asked you whether his followers were increasing or decreasing. You replied that they were increasing. In fact; this is the result of true faith till it is complete in all respects. I asked you whether there was anybody who; after embracing his religion; became displeased and discarded his religion; your reply was in the negative. In fact; this is the sign of true faith; for when its cheerfulness enters and mixes in the hearts completely; nobody will be displeased with it. I asked you whether he had ever broken his promise. You replied in the negative. And such are the apostles; they never break their promises. When I asked you whether you fought with him and he fought with you; you replied that he did; and that sometimes he was victorious and sometimes you. Indeed; such are the apostles; they are put to trials and the final victory is always theirs. Then I asked you what he ordered you. You replied that he ordered you to worship Allah alone and not to worship others along with Him; to leave all that your fore-fathers used to worship; to offer prayers; to speak the truth; to be chaste; to keep promises; and to return what is entrusted to you. These are really the qualities of a prophet who; I knew from the previous Scriptures would appear; but I did not know that he would be from amongst you. If what you say should be true; he will very soon occupy the earth under my feet; and if I knew that I would reach him definitely; I would go immediately to meet Him; and were I with him; then I would certainly wash his feet. Abu Sufyan added; Caesar then asked for the letter of Allah Messenger ﷺ and it was read. Its contents were: In the name of Allah; the most Beneficent; the most Merciful This letter is from Muhammad; the slave of Allah; and His Apostle; to Heraculius; the Ruler of the Byzantine. Peace be upon the followers of guidance. Now then; I invite you to Islam i.e. surrender to Allah ; embrace Islam and you will be safe; embrace Islam and Allah will bestow on you a double reward. But if you reject this invitation of Islam; you shall be responsible for misguiding the peasants i.e. your nation. O people of the Scriptures! Come to a word common to you and us and you; that we worship. None but Allah; and that we associate nothing in worship with Him; and that none of us shall take others as Lords besides Allah. Then if they turn away; say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered unto Him.. 3.64 Abu Sufyan added; When Heraclius had finished his speech; there was a great hue and cry caused by the Byzantine Royalties surrounding him; and there was so much noise that I did not understand what they said. So; we were turned out of the court. When I went out with my companions and we were alone; I said to them; Verily; Ibn Abi Kabsha i.e. the Prophets affair has gained power. This is the King of Bani AlAsfar fearing him. He was from the tribe of Banu Hanifa and was called Thumama Bin Uthal. He was the chief of the people of Yamama. People bound him with one of the pillars of the Masjid. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to see him. He said: O Thumama; what do you think? He replied: Muhammad; I have good opinion of you. If you kill me; you will kill a person who has spilt blood. If you do me a favour; you will do a favour to a grateful person. If you want wealth; ask and you will get what you will demand. The Messenger of Allah may peace be pon him lefthim in this condition for two days; and came to him again and said: What do you think; O Thumama? He replied: What I have already told you. If you do a favour; you will do a favour to a grateful person. If you kill me; you will kill a person who has spilt blood. If you want wealth; ask and you will get what you will demand. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left him until the next day when he came to him again and said: What do you think; O Thumama? He replied: What I have already told you. If you do me a favour; you will do a favour to a grateful person. If you kill me; you will kill a person who has spilt blood. If you want wealth ask and you will get what you will demand. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Set Thumama free. He went to a palm-grove near the Masjid and took a bath. Then he entered the Masjid and said: I bear testimony to the truth that there is no god but Allah and I testify that Muhammad is His bondman and His messenger. O Muhammad; by Allah; there was no face on the earth more hateful to me than your face; but now your face has become to me the dearest of all faces. By Allah; there was no religion more hateful to me than your religion; but now your religion has become the dearest of all religions to me. By Allah; there was no city more hateful to me than your city; but now your city has become the dearest of all cities to me. Your horsemen captured me when I intended going for Umra. Now what is your opinion in the matter ? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ announced good tidings to him and told him to go on Umra. When he reached Mecca; somebody said to him: Have you changed your religion? He said: No! I have rather embraced Islam with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. SahihMuslim-017-001-18097It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Wail who said: Sahal Bin Hunaif stood up on the Day of Siffin and said: O ye people; blame yourselves for want of discretion ; we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Day of Hudaibiya. If we had thought it fit to fight; we could fight. This was in the truce between the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the polytheists. Umar Bin AlKhattab came; approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah; arent we fighting for truth and they for falsehood? He replied: By all means. He asked: Are not those killed from our side in Paradise and those killed. from their side in the Fire? He replied: Yes. He said: Then why should we put a blot upon our religion and return; while Allah has not decided the issue between them and ourselves? He said: Son of AlKhattab; I am the Messenger of Allah. Allah will never ruin me. The narrator said : Umar went away; but he could not contain himself with rage. So he approached Abu Bakr and said: Abu Bakr; arent we fighting for truth and they for falsehood? He replied: Yes. He asked: Arent those killed from our side in Paradise and those killed from their side in the Fire? He replied: Why not? He then said: Why should we then disgrace our religion and return while God has not yet decided the issue between them and ourselves? Abu Bakr said: Son of AlKhattab; verily; he is the Messenger of Allah; and Allah will never ruin him. The narrator continued : At this a Surat of the Quran giving glad tidings of the victory was revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He sent for Umar and made him read it. He asked: Is this truce a victory? He the Messenger of Allah replied: Yes. SahihMuslim-017-001-18389It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Ask me about matters pertaining to religion ; but they the Companions of the Holy Prophet were too much overawed out of profound respect for him to ask him anything. In the meanwhile a man came there; and sat near his knees and said: Messenger of Allah; what Allslam is? -to which he the Holy Prophet replied: You must not associate anything with Allah; and establish prayer; pay the poor-rate Zakat and observe the fasts of Ramadan. He said: You have told the truth. He again said: Messenger of Allah; what AlIman the faith is? He the Holy Prophet said: That you affirm your faith in Allah; His angels; His Books; His meeting; His Apostles; and that you believe in Resurrection and that you believe in Qadr Divine Decree in all its entirety; He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He again said: Messenger of Allah; what AlIhsan is? Upon this he the Holy Prophet said: AlIhsan implies that you fear Allah as if you are seeing Him; and though you see Him not; verily He is seeing you. He the inquirer said: You have told the truth. He the inquirer said: When there would be the hour of Doom ? Upon this he the HolyProphet said: The one who is being asked about it is no better informed than the inquirer himself. I; however; narrate some of its signs and these are : when you see a slave woman giving birth to her master - that is one of the signs of Doom ; when you see barefooted; naked; deaf and dumb ignorant and foolish persons as the rulers of the earth - that is one of the signs of the Doom. And when you see the shepherds of black camels exult in buildings - that is one of the signs of Doom. The Doom is one of the five things wrapped in the unseen. No one knows them except Allah. Then the Holy Prophet recited the folowing verse : Verily Allah! with Him alone is the knowledge of the hour and He it is Who sends down the rain and knows that which is in the wombs and no person knows whatsoever he shall earn on morrow and a person knows not in whatsoever land he shall die. Verily Allah is Knowing; Aware. He the narrator; Abu Huraira said: Then the person stood up an made his way. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Bring him back to me. He was searched for; but they the Companions of the Holy Prophet could not find him. SahihMuslim-017-001-18421It is reported by Saeed Bin Mousayib who narrated it on the authority of his father Mousayib Bin Hazm that when Abu Talib was about to die; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him and found with him Abu Jahl Amr Bin Hisham and Abdullah Bin Abi Umaya Ibn AlMughirah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: My uncle; you just make a profession that there is no god but Allah; and I will bear testimony before Allah of your being a believer ; Abu Jahl and Abdullah Bin Abi Umaya addressing him said: Abu Talib; would you abandon the religion of Abd AlMuttalib? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ constantly requested him to accept his offer ; and on the other hand was repeated the same statement of Abu Jahl and Abdullah Bin Abi Umaya till Abu Talib gave his final decision and be stuck to the religion of Abd AlMuttalib and refused to profess that there is no god but Allah. Upon this the Messenger of Allah remarked: By Allah; I will persistently beg pardon for you till I am forbidden to do so by God ; It was then that Allah; the Magnificent and the Glorious; revealed this verse: It is not meet for the Prophet and for those who believe that they should beg pardon for the polytheists; even though they were their kith and kin; after it had been made known to them that they were the denizens of Hell ix. 113 And it was said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : Verily thou canst not guide to the right path whom thou lovest. SahihMuslim-017-001-18529It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah Bin Umar that the Messenger of Allah observed: O womenfolk; you should give charity and ask much forgiveness for I saw you in bulk amongst the dwellers of Hell. A wise lady among them said: Why is it; Messenger of Allah; that our folk is in bulk in Hell? Upon this the Prophet observed: You curse too much and are ungrateful to your spouses. I have seen none lacking in common sense and failing in religion but at the same time robbing the wisdom of the wise; besides you. Upon this the woman remarked: What is wrong with our common sense and with religion? SahihMuslim-017-001-19019Suhaib reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ thus said: There lived a king before you and he had a court magician. As he the magician grew old; he said to the king: I have grown old; send some young boy to me so that I should teach him magic. He the king sent to him a young man so that he should train him in magic. And on his way to the magician he the young man found a monk sitting there. He the young man listened to his the monks talk and was impressed by it. It became his habit that on his way to the magician he met the monk and set there and he came to the magician late. He the magician beat him because of delay. He made a complaint of that to the monk and he said to him: When you feel afraid of the magician; say: Members of my family had detained me. And when you feel afraid of your family you should say: The magician had detained me. It so happened that there came a huge beast of prey and it blocked the way of the people; and he the young boy said: I will come to know today whether the magician is superior or the monk is superior. He picked up a stone and said: O Allah; if the affair of the monk is dearer to Thee than the affair of the magician; cause death to this animal so that the people should be able to move about freely. He threw that stone towards it and killed it and the people began to move about on the path freely. He the young man then came to that monk and Informed him and the monk said: Sonny; today you are superior to me. Your affair has come to a stage where I find that you would be soon put to a trial; and in case you are put to a trial dont give my clue. That young man began to treat the blind and those suffering from leprosy and he in fact began to cure people from all kinds of illness. When a companion of the king who had gone blind heard about him; he came to him with numerous gifts and said: If you cure me all these things collected together here would be yours. Be said: I myself do not cure anyone. It is Allah Who cures and if you affirm faith in Allah; I shall also supplicate Allah to cure you. He affirmed his faith in Allah and Allah cured him and he came to the king and sat by his side as he used to sit before. The king said to him: Who restored your eyesight? He said: My Lord. Thereupon he said: It means that your Lord is One besides me. He said: My Lord and your Lord is Allah; so he the king took hold of him and tormented him till he gave a clue of that boy. The young man was thus summoned and the king said to him: O boy; it has been conveyed to me that you have become so much proficient in your magic that you cure the blind and those suffering from leprosy and you do such and such things. Thereupon he said: I do not cure anyone; it is Allah Who cures; and he the king took hold of him and began to torment him. So he gave a clue of the monk. The monk was thus summoned and it was said to him: You should turn back from your religion. He; however; refused to do so. He ordered for a saw to be brought and when it was done he the king placed it in the middle of his head and tore it into parts till a part fell down. Then the courtier of the king was brought and it was said to him: Turn back from your religion. Arid he refused to do so; and the saw was placed in the midst of his head and it was torn till a part fell down. Then that young boy was brought and it was said to him: Turn back from your religion. He refused to do so and he was handed over to a group of his courtiers. And he said to them: Take him to such and such mountain; make him climb up that mountain and when you reach its top ask him to renounce his faith but if he refuses to do so; then throw him down the mountain. So they took him and made him climb up the mountain and he said: O Allah; save me from them in any way Thou likest and the mountain began to quake and they all fell down and that person came walking to the king. The king said to him: What has happened to your companions? He said: Allah has saved me from them. He again handed him to some of his courtiers and said: Take him and carry him in a small boat and when you reach the middle of the ocean ask him to renounce his religion; but if he does not renounce his religion throw him into the water. So they took him and he said: O Allah; save me from them and what they want to do. It was quite soon that the boat turned over and they were drowned and he came walking to the king; and the king said to him: What has happened to your companions? He said: Allah has saved me from them; and he said to the king: You cannot kill me until you do what I ask you to do. And he said: What is that? He said: You should gather people in a plain and hang me by the trunk of a tree. Then take hold of an arrow from the quiver and say: In the name of Allah; the Lord of the young boy; then shoot an arrow and if you do that then you would be able to kill me. So he the king called the people in an open plain and tied him the boy to the trunk of a tree; then he took hold of an arrow from his quiver and then placed the arrow in the bow and then said: In the name of Allah; the Lord of the young boy; he then shot an arrow and it bit his temple. He the boy placed his hands upon the temple where the arrow had bit him and he died and the people said: We affirm our faith in the Lord of this young man; we affirm our faith in the Lord of this young man; we affirm our faith in the Lord of this young man. The courtiers came to the king and it was said to him: Do you see that Allah has actually done what you aimed at averting. They the people have affirmed their faith in the Lord. He the king commanded ditches to be dug at important points in the path. When these ditches were dug; and the fire was lit in them it was said to the people : He who would not turn back from his boys religion would be thrown in the fire or it would be said to them to jump in that. And if I live longer I would decide this problem so clearly that one who reads the Quran; or one who does not read it; would be able to take correct ; decisions under its light. I call You witness on these governors of lands; that I sent them to the peoples of these lands so that they should administer justice amongst them; teach them their religion and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; and distribute amongst them the spoils of war and refer to me that which they find difficult to perform. O people. you eat these two plants and these are onions and garlic. and I find them nothing but repugnant for I saw that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sensed the odour of these two from a person in a Masjid; he was made to go to AlBaqi. Hannad version says: Two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: My Lord is Allah. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: My religion is Islam. They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply: I read Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah Book; believed in it; and considered it true; which is verified by Allah words: Allah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next. The agreed version reads: Then a crier will call from Heaven: My servant has spoken the truth; so spread a bed for him from Paradise; clothe him from Paradise; and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him; and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. He also mentioned the death of the infidel; saying: His spirit will be restored to his body; two angels will come to him; make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: Alas; alas! I do not know. Then a crier will call from Heaven: He has lied; so spread a bed for him from Hell; clothe him from Hell; and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him; and his grave will be compressed; so that his ribs will be crushed together. Jabir version adds: One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him; having a sledge-hammer such that if a mountain were struck with it; it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn; and he will become dust. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-26550Abu Burdah said on the authority of Abu Mousa : I went to the Prophet ﷺ while two men who were Ash arIs were with me. One of them was on my right and the other on my left side. Bothe of them asked him for employment. The prophet ﷺ was silent. He asked : What do you say Abu Mousa; or Abdullah Bin Qais Abu Mousas name ? I replied: By him who has sent you with truth; they did not inform me of what they had in their hearts; and I did not know that they would ask for an employment. He said : I have the scene before my eyes that he had his toothstick below his lip which receded. He the prophet said: We will never or will not put in charge of our work anyone who asks for it. But go; ye; Abu Mousa; or Abdullah Bin Qais. He then sent him as a Governor of the Yemen; After him he sent Muadh Bin Jabal. When Muadh came to him; he said: come down ; and he put a cushion for him. He saw that a man was chained with him. He asked : What is this? He replied: He was a Jew and he accepted Islam. He then converted to his religion; an evil religion. He said: I will not sit until he is killed according to the decision of Allah and his Apostle ﷺ. He said: Yes; be seated. He said: I will not sit until he is killed according to the decision of Allah and his Apostle ﷺ. He said it three times. He then commanded for it and he was killed. Both of them then discussed the question of prayer and vigilance at night. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29696Khabbab said We came to the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ while he was reclining on an outer garment in the shade of the Kabah. He sat aright turning red in his face and said A man before you i.e.; in ancient times was caught and a pit was dug for him in the earth and then a saw was brought placed on his head and it was broken into two pieces but that did not turn him away from his religion. They were combed in iron combs in flesh and sinews above the bones. Even that did not turn them away from their religion.
