- Narrated A man from the companions of the Prophet: Abdulrahman Ibn Kaab Ibn Malik reported on the authority of a man from among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ : The infidels of the Quraysh wrote a letter to Ibn Ubay and to those who worshipped idols from alaous and AlKhazraj; while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at that time at Medina before the battle of Badr. They wrote : You gave protection to our companion. We swear by Allah; you should fight him or expel him; or we shall come to you in full force; until we kill your fighters and appropriate your women. When this news reached Abdullah Ibn Ubay and those who were worshippers of idols; with him they gathered together to fight the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When this news reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; he visited them and said: The threat of the Quraysh to you has reached its end. They cannot contrive a plot against you; greater than what you yourselves intended to harm you. Are you willing to fight your sons and brethren? When they heard this from the Prophet ﷺ ; they scattered. This reached the infidels of the Quraysh. The infidels of the Quraysh again wrote a letter to the Jews after the battle of Badr: You are men of weapons and fortresses. You should fight our companion or we shall deal with you in a certain way. And nothing will come between us and the anklets of your women. When their letter reached the Prophet ﷺ ; they gathered Banu AlNadir to violate the treaty. They sent a message to the Prophet ﷺ : Come out to us with thirty men from your companions; and thirty rabbis will come out from us till we meet at a central place where they will hear you. If they testify to you and believe in you; we shall believe in you. The narrator then narrated the whole story. When the next day came; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out in the morning with an army; and surrounded them. He told them: I swear by Allah; you will have no peace from me until you conclude a treaty with me. But they refused to conclude a treaty with him. He therefore fought them the same day. Next he attacked Banu Quraysh with an army in the morning; and left Banu AlNadir. He asked them to sign a treaty and they signed it. He turned away from them and attacked Banu AlNadir with an army. He fought with them until they agreed to expulsion. Banu AlNadir were deported; and they took with them whatever their camels could carry; that is; their property; the doors of their houses; and their wood. Palm-trees were exclusively reserved for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Allah bestowed them upon him and gave them him as a special portion. He Allah ; the Exalted; said: What Allah has bestowed on His Apostle and taken away from them; for this ye made no expedition with either camel corps or cavalry. He said: Without fighting. So the Prophet ﷺ gave most of it to the emigrants and divided it among them; and he divided some of it between two men from the helpers; who were needy; and he did not divide it among any of the helpers except those two. The rest of it survived as the sadaqah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which is in the hands of the descendants of Fatimah Allah be pleased with her. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29275
- Narrated Abdullah Bin Kaab I heard Kaab Bin Malik who was one of the three who were forgiven; saying that he had never remained behind Allah Messenger ﷺ in any Ghazwa which he had fought except two Ghazwat Ghazwat- AlUsra Tabuk and Ghazwat-Badr. He added. I decided to tell the truth to Allah Messenger ﷺ in the forenoon; and scarcely did he return from a journey he made; except in the forenoon; he would go first to the Masjid and offer a two-rakat prayer. The Prophet ﷺ forbade others to speak to me or to my two companions; but he did not prohibit speaking to any of those who had remained behind excepting us. So the people avoided speaking to us; and I stayed in that state till I could no longer bear it; and the only thing that worried me was that I might die and the Prophet ﷺ would not offer the funeral prayer for me; or Allah Messenger ﷺ might die and I would be left in that social status among the people that nobody would speak to me or offer the funeral prayer for me. But Allah revealed His Forgiveness for us to the Prophet ﷺ in the last third of the night while Allah Messenger ﷺ was with Um Salama. Umm Salamah sympathized with me and helped me in my disaster. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Umm Salamah ! Kaab has been forgiven! She said; Shall I send someone to him to give him the good tidings? He said; If you did so; the people would not let you sleep the rest of the night. So when the Prophet ﷺ had offered the Fajr prayer; he announced Allah Forgiveness for us. His face used to look as bright as a piece of the full moon whenever he was pleased. When Allah revealed His Forgiveness for us; we were the three whose case had been deferred while the excuse presented by those who had apologized had been accepted. But when there were mentioned those who had told the Prophet ﷺ lies and remained behind the battle of Tabuk and had given false excuses; they were described with the worse description one may be described with. Allah said: They will present their excuses to you Muslims when you return to them. Say: Present no excuses; we shall not believe you. Allah has already informed us of the true state of matters concerning you. Allah and His Apostle will observe your actions. 9.94 SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6991
- Jabir Bin Abdullah reported: I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ exhorting people on the Day of the Battle of the Ditch to fight. AlZubair said: I am ready to participate. He then again exhorted and he again said: I am ready to participate. Thereupon Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Behold. for every Prophet there is a helper and my helper is Zubair. SahihMuslim-017-001-20652
- It was narrated that Abu Huraira said: The Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah. If they say it then their blood and their wealth are safe from me; except for a right that is due; and their reckoning will be with Allah. When the people apostatized; Umar said to Abu Bakr: Will you fight them when you heard the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL say such and such? He said: By Allah; I do not separate Salah and Zakah; and I will fight whoever separates them. So we fought alongside him; and we realized that that was the right thing. SunanAlNasai-017-001-14094
- Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: The Prophet ﷺ said: The best number of companions is four; the best number in expeditions four hundred; and the best number in armies four thousand; and twelve thousand will not be overcome through smallness of numbers.Abu Dawud said: What is correct is that this tradition is mursal i.e. the link of the Companion is missing. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29658
- Abu Saeed narrated: The Messenger of Allah s.a.w dispatched us on a military expedition. We camped with some people and asked them to entertain us but they did not entertain us. Their leader was stung so they came to us saying: Is there anyone among you who can treat a scorpion sting with Ruqyah? I said: Yes I can. But I will not do any Ruqyah until you give us some sheep. They said: Then we shall give you thirty sheep. We accepted that;and I recited AlHamda [Lillah] seven times. He became better and we took the sheep. He said: We became concerned about that being permissible and said: Do not be hasty until we reach the Messenger of Allah S.A.W. He said: When we arrived with him I mentioned what I did to him. He S.A.W said: How did you know that it was a Ruqyah? Take the sheep; and assign me a share among you. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10396
- Narrated Abu Mousa: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who fights out of bravery; one who fights out of protection for himself or others ; and one who fought to be seen. Which of them is in the cause of Allah ? He said: Whoever fought so that the Word of Allah is supreme; then he is in Allah cause.[Abu Eisa said:] There is something on this topic from Umar. This Hadith isHassan Sahih. SunanAlTermithi-017-001-10849
- Narrated Kaab Bin Malik: I never failed to join Allah Messenger ﷺ in any of his Ghazawat except in the Ghazwa of Tabuk. However; I did not take part in the Ghazwa of Badr; but none who failed to take part in it; was blamed; for Allah Messenger ﷺ had gone out to meet the caravans of Quraish; but Allah caused them i.e. Muslims to meet their enemy unexpectedly with no previous intention. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6307
- Narrated Salama Bin AlAkwa: I fought in seven Ghazwat i.e. battles along with the Prophet ﷺ and fought in nine battles; fought by armies dispatched by the Prophet. Once Abu Bakr was our commander and at another time; Usama was our commander. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6608

They said Muhammad; you should not deceive yourself taking pride that you had killed a few persons of the Quariash who were inexperienced and did not know how to fight. Had you fought with us; you would have known us. You have never met people like us. Allah Most High revealed about this the following verse Say to those who reject faith; soon will ye be vanished... one army was fighting in the cause of Allaah; the other resisting Allaah. He was found with more than eighty wounds; between blows with the sword; thrusts of a spear; or arrow wounds. We would say: It was about him and his companions that the following was revealed: Of them some have fulfilled their vow; and some of them are still waiting; but they have never changed in the least 33:23.
