  1. Narrated Abu Huraira: One day while Allah Messenger ﷺ was sitting with the people; a man came to him walking and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ. What is Belief? The Prophet ﷺ said; Belief is to believe in Allah; His Angels; His Books; His Apostles; and the meeting with Him; and to believe in the Resurrection. The man asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ What is Islam? The Prophet ﷺ replied; Islam is to worship Allah and not worship anything besides Him; to offer prayers perfectly; to pay the compulsory charity i.e. Zakat and to fast the month of Ramadan. The man again asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ What is Ihsan i.e. perfection or Benevolence ? The Prophet ﷺ said; Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him; and if you do not achieve this state of devotion; then take it for granted that Allah sees you. The man further asked; O Allah Messenger ﷺ When will the Hour be established? The Prophet ﷺ replied; The one who is asked about it does not know more than the questioner does; but I will describe to you its portents. When the lady slave gives birth to her mistress; that will be of its portents; when the bare-footed naked people become the chiefs of the people; that will be of its portents. The Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah. Verily; the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah alone. He sends down the rain; and knows that which is in the wombs. 31.34 Then the man left. The Prophet ﷺ said; Call him back to me. They went to call him back but could not see him. Then he further asked; What is Ihsan perfection ? Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; To worship Allah as if you see Him; and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you. Then he further asked; When will the Hour be established? Allah Messenger ﷺ replied; The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner. But I will inform you about its portents. 1. When a slave lady gives birth to her master. 2. When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah. The Prophet ﷺ then recited: Verily; with Allah Alone is the knowledge of the Hour-. 31. 34 Then that man Gabriel left and the Prophet ﷺ asked his companions to call him back; but they could not see him. Then the Prophet ﷺ said; That was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion. Abu Abdullah said: He the Prophet considered all that as a part of faith. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6106

We could see no signs of travel on him; but none of us knew him. He came and sat before the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL; putting his knees against his; and placing his hands on his thighs; then he said: O Muhammad; tell me about Islam. He said: When a slave woman gives birth to her mistress; when you see the barefoot; naked; destitute shepherds competing in making tall buildings. Umar said: Three days passed; then the Messenger of Allah SAWSYMOBOL said to me: O Umar; do you know who the questioner was? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Then Allah will raise a wild which will be fragrant like musk and whose touch will be like the touch of silk; but it will cause the death of all faithful persons; not leaving behind a single person with an iota of faith in his heart. Then only the worst of men will remain to be overwhelmed by the Hour. SahihMuslim-017-001-17937

  6. Yahya Bin Yamur said : The first to speak on Divine decree in AlBasrah was Mabad AlJuhani. I and Humaid Bin Abdulrahman AlHimyari proceeded to perform Hajj or Umrah. We said : would that we meet any of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that we could ask him about what they say with regard to divine decree. So Allah helped us to meet Abdullah Bin Umar who was entering the Masjid. So I and my companion surrounded him; and I thought that my companion would entrust me the task of speaking to him. Then I said : Abu Abdulrahman there appeared on our side some people who recite the Quran and are engaged in the hair-splitting of knowledge. They conceive that there is no Divine decree and everything happens freely without predestination. He said : When you meet those people; tell them that I am free from them; and they are free from me. By Him by Whom swears Abdullah Bin Umar; if one of them has gold equivalent to Uhud and he spends it; Allah will not accept it from him until he believes in Divine decree. No mark of travel was visible on him; and we did not recognize him. Sitting down beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ; leaning his knees against his and placing his hands on his thighs; he said : tell me; Muhammad; about Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said : Islam means that you should testify that there is no god but Allah; and Muhammad is Allahs Apostle; that you should observe prayer; pay Zakat; fast during Ramadan; and perform Hajj to the house i.e.; Kabah ; If you have the means to go. He said : You have spoken the truth. We were surprised at his questioning him and then declaring that he spoke the truth. He said : Now tell me about faith. He replied : It means that you should believe in Allah; his angels; his Books; his Apostles and the last day; and that you should believe in the decreeing both of good and evil. He said : You have spoken the truth. He said : now tell me about doing good ihsan. He replied: It means that you should worship Allah as though you are seeing him; if you are not seeing him; he is seeing you. He said: Now tell me about the hour. He replied : The one who is asked about it is no better informed than the one who is asking. He said : Then tell me about its signs. He replied : That a maidservant should beget her mistress; and that you should see barefooted; naked; poor men and shepherds exalting themselves in buildings. Umar said : He then went away; and I waited for three days; then he said : Do you know who the questioner was; Umar? I replied : Allah and his Apostle know best. He said: That was Jibril; ﷺ ; who came to you to teach you your religion. SunanAlNasai-017-001-11886
  8. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created; on it he was expelled from Paradise ; on it his contrition was accepted; on it he died; and on it the Last Hour will take place. On Friday every beast is on the lookout from dawn to sunrise in fear of the Last Hour; but not jinn and men; and it contains a time at which no Muslim prays and asks anything from Allah but He will give it to him. Kaab said: That is one day every year. So I said: It is on every Friday. Kaab read the Torah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has spoken the truth. Abu Huraira said: I met Abdullah Ibn Salam and told him of my meeting with Ka Bin Abdullah Ibn Salam said: I know what time it is. Abu Huraira said: I asked him to tell me about it. Abdullah Ibn Salam said: It is at the very end of Friday. I asked: How can it be when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: No Muslim finds it while he is praying.... and this is the moment when no prayer is offered. Abdullah Ibn Salam said: Has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not said: If anyone is seated waiting for the prayer; he is engaged in the prayer until he observes it. I said: Yes; it is so.
