Then Abdullah Bin Abu Bakr got it and said: I would keep it in order to shroud myself in it. As for the miser; as soon as he thinks of spending every ring of the iron cloak sticks to its place against his body and he tries to expand it; but it does not expand. The Prophet ﷺ pointed with his hand towards his throat. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3166
  5. Rabi Bin Sabra Aljahanni reported on the authority of his father. We went with Allah Messenger ﷺ to Mecca during the year of Victory and he narrated like this a hadith transmitted by Bishr the previous one but with this addition: She said: Can it be possible? And it is also mentioned in it: He said: The cloak of this man is old and worn out. SahihMuslim-017-001-21587
  6. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ said; The example of a miser and the one who gives in charity; is like the example of two men wearing iron cloaks so tightly that their arms are raised forcibly towards their collar-bones. So; whenever a charitable person wants to give in charity; his cloak spreads over his body so much so that it wipes out his traces; but whenever the miser wants to give in charity; the rings of the iron cloak come closer to each other and press over his body; and his hands gets connected to his collarbones. Abu Huraira heard the Prophet ﷺ saying. The miser then tries to widen it but in vain. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4587

  10. Narrated Abyad Ibn Hammal: Abyad spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about sadaqah when he came along with a deputation to him. He replied: O brother of Saba; sadaqah is unavoidable. He said: We cultivated cotton; Messenger of Allah. The people of Saba scattered; and there remained only a few at Maarib. He therefore concluded a treaty of peace with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to give seventy suits of cloth; equivalent to the price of the Yemeni garments known as Almuafir; to be paid every year on behalf of those people of Saba who remained at Maarib. They continued to pay them till the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died. The governors after the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ broke the treaty concluded by Abyad by Hammal with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to give seventy suits of garments. Abu Bakr then revived it as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had done till Abu Bakr died. When Abu Bakr died; it was discontinued and the sadaqah was levied. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-29299
