SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3604Narrated Aisha: that during his fatal ailment; Allah Messenger ﷺ ; used to ask his wives; Where shall I stay tomorrow? Where shall I stay tomorrow? He was looking forward to Aisha turn. So all his wives allowed him to stay where he wished; and he stayed at Aisha house till he died there. Aisha added: He died on the day of my usual turn at my house. Allah took him unto Him while his head was between my chest and my neck and his saliva was mixed with my saliva. The Chapter on Entering in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on If a man takes the permission of his wives so as to stay in the house of one of them in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3643Narrated Anas: When Abdulrahman Bin Auf came to us; Allah Messenger ﷺ made a bond of fraternity between him and Saad Bin AlRabi who was a rich man; Saad said; The Ansar know that I am the richest of all of them; so I will divide my property into two parts between me and you; and I have two wives; see which of the two you like so that I may divorce her and you can marry her after she becomes lawful to you by her passing the prescribed period i.e. Idda of divorce. Abdulrahman said; May Allah bless you your family i.e. wives for you. But Abdulrahman went to the market and did not return on that day except with some gain of dried yogurt and butter. He went on trading just a few days till he came to Allah Messenger ﷺ bearing the traces of yellow scent over his clothes. Allah Messenger ﷺ asked him; What is this scent? He replied; I have married a woman from the Ansar. Allah Apostle asked; How much Mahr have you given? He said; A date-stone weight of gold or a golden date-stone. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4118Narrated AlZuhri: Urwa said; Aisha told me that Allah Messenger ﷺ used to examine the women emigrants. We have been told also that when Allah revealed the order that the Muslims should return to the pagans what they had spent on their wives who emigrated after embracing Islam and that the Muslims should not keep unbelieving women as their wives; Umar divorced two of his wives; Qariba; the daughter of Abu Umayah and the daughter of Jarwal AlKhuzai. Later on Muawiya married Qariba and Abu Jahm married the other. When the pagans refused to pay what the Muslims had spent on their wives; Allah revealed: And if any of your wives have gone from you to the unbelievers and you have an accession by the coming over of a woman from the other side then pay to those whose wives have gone the equivalent of what they had spent on their Mahr. 60.11 So; Allah ordered that the Muslim whose wife has gone; should be given; as a compensation of the Mahr he had given to his wife; from the Mahr of the wives of the pagans who had emigrated deserting their husbands. We do not know any of the women emigrants who deserted Islam after embracing it. We have also been told that Abu Basir Bin Aasi d AlThaqafi came to the Prophet ﷺ as a Muslim emigrant during the truce. AlAkhnas Bin Shariq wrote to the Prophet ﷺ requesting him to return Abu Basir. The Chapter on Wives And Relationship Child And Husbands in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The conditions of Jihad and peace treaties in Sahih AlBukhari

They will not spit or blow their noses or relieve nature. Their utensils will be of gold and their combs of gold and silver; in their centers the aloe wood will be used; and their sweat will smell like musk. Everyone of them will have two wives; the marrow of the bones of the wives legs will be seen through the flesh out of excessive beauty. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4768Narrated Urwa from Aisha: The wives of Allah Messenger ﷺ were in two groups. One group consisted of Aisha; Hafsa; Safiya and Sauda; and the other group consisted of Umm Salamah and the other wives of Allah Messenger ﷺ. The Muslims knew that Allah Messenger ﷺ loved Aisha; so if any of them had a gift and wished to give to Allah Messenger ﷺ ; he would delay it; till Allah Messenger ﷺ had come to Aisha home and then he would send his gift to Allah Messenger ﷺ in her home. The group of Umm Salamah discussed the matter together and decided that Umm Salamah should request Allah Messenger ﷺ to tell the people to send their gifts to him in whatever wife house he was. Umm Salamah told Allah Messenger ﷺ of what they had said; but he did not reply. Then they those wives asked Umm Salamah about it. She said; He did not say anything to me. They asked her to talk to him again. She talked to him again when she met him on her day; but he gave no reply. When they asked her; she replied that he had given no reply. They said to her; Talk to him till he gives you a reply. When it was her turn; she talked to him again. He then said to her; Do not hurt me regarding Aisha; as the Divine Inspirations do not come to me on any of the beds except that of Aisha. On that Umm Salamah said; I repent to Allah for hurting you. Then the group of Umm Salamah called Fatima; the daughter of Allah Messenger ﷺ and sent her to Allah Messenger ﷺ to say to him; Your wives request to treat them and the daughter of Abu Bakr on equal terms. Then Fatima conveyed the message to him. The Prophet ﷺ said; O my daughter! Dont you love whom I love? She replied in the affirmative and returned and told them of the situation. They requested her to go to him again but she refused. They then sent Zainab bint Jahsh who went to him and used harsh words saying; Your wives request you to treat them and the daughter of Ibn Abu Quhafa on equal terms. On that she raised her voice and abused Aisha to her face so much so that Allah Messenger ﷺ looked at Aisha to see whether she would retort. Aisha started replying to Zainab till she silenced her. The Prophet ﷺ then looked at Aisha and said; She is really the daughter of Abu Bakr. The Chapter on Enemies And Groups And Household in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Chosing the to give a gift in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5067Narrated Abdullah Bin Umar: The Prophet ﷺ concluded a contract with the people of Khaibar to utilize the land on the condition that half the products of fruits or vegetation would be their share. The Prophet ﷺ used to give his wives one hundred Wasqs each; eighty Wasqs of dates and twenty Wasqs of barley. When Umar became the Caliph he gave the wives of the Prophet ﷺ the option of either having the land and water as their shares; or carrying on the previous practice. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-5115Narrated Abdullah Bin Abbas: I had been eager to ask Umar about the two ladies from among the wives of the Prophet ﷺ regarding whom Allah said in the Quran saying : If you two wives of the Prophet ﷺ namely Aisha and Hafsa turn in repentance to Allah your hearts are indeed so inclined to oppose what the Prophet ﷺ likes 66.4 ; till performed the Hajj along with Umar and on our way back from Hajj he went Aasi de to answer the call of nature and I also went Aasi de along with him carrying a tumbler of water. When he had answered the call of nature and returned. I poured water on his hands from the tumbler and he performed ablution. I said; O Chief of the believers! Who were the two ladies from among the wives of the Prophet ﷺ to whom Allah said: If you two return in repentance 66.4 ? He said; I am astonished at your question; O Ibn Abbas. They were Aisha and Hafsa. Then Umar went on relating the narration and said. I and an Ansari neighbor of mine from Bani Umaiya Bin Zaid who used to live in Awali AlMedina; used to visit the Prophet ﷺ in turns. He used to go one day; and I another day. When I went I would bring him the news of what had happened that day regarding the instructions and orders and when he went; he used to do the same for me. We; the people of Quraish; used to have authority over women; but when we came to live with the Ansar; we noticed that the Ansari women had the upper hand over their men; so our women started acquiring the habits of the Ansari women. Once I shouted at my wife and she paid me back in my coin and I disliked that she should answer me back. She said; Why do you take it ill that I retort upon you? By Allah; the wives of the Prophet ﷺ retort upon him; and some of them may not speak with him for the whole day till night. What she said scared me and I said to her; Whoever amongst them does so; will be a great loser. Then I dressed myself and went to Hafsa and asked her; Does any of you keep Allah Messenger ﷺ angry all the day long till night? She replied in the affirmative. I said; She is a ruined losing person and will never have success ! Doesnt she fear that Allah may get angry for the anger of Allah Messenger ﷺ and thus she will be ruined? Dont ask Allah Messenger ﷺ too many things; and dont retort upon him in any case; and dont desert him. Demand from me whatever you like; and dont be tempted to imitate your neighbor i.e. Aisha in her behavior towards the Prophet ; for she i.e. Aisha is more beautiful than you; and more beloved to Allah Messenger ﷺ. In those days it was rumored that Ghassan; a tribe living in Sham was getting prepared their horses to invade us. My companion went to the Prophet ﷺ on the day of his turn; went and returned to us at night and knocked at my door violently; asking whether I was sleeping. I was scared by the hard knocking and came out to him. He said that a great thing had happened. I asked him: What is it? Have Ghassan come? He replied that it was worse and more serious than that; and added that Allah Apostle had divorced all his wives. I said; Hafsa is a ruined loser! I expected that would happen some day. So I dressed myself and offered the Fajr prayer with the Prophet. Then the Prophet ﷺ entered an upper room and stayed there alone. I went to Hafsa and found her weeping. I asked her; Why are you weeping? Didnt I warn you? Have Allah Messenger ﷺ divorced you all? She replied; I dont know. He is there in the upper room. I then went out and came to the pulpit and found a group of people around it and some of them were weeping. Then I sat with them for some time; but could not endure the situation. So I went to the upper room where the Prophet ﷺ was and requested to a black slave of his: Will you get the permission of Allah Apostle for Umar to enter ? The slave went in; talked to the Prophet ﷺ about it and came out saying; I mentioned you to him but he did not reply. So; I went and sat with the people who were sitting by the pulpit; but I could not bear the situation; so I went to the slave again and said: Will you get he permission for Umar? He went in and brought the same reply as before. When I was leaving; behold; the slave called me saying; Allah Messenger ﷺ has granted you permission. So; I entered upon the Prophet and saw him lying on a mat without wedding on it; and the mat had left its mark on the body of the Prophet; and he was leaning on a leather pillow stuffed with palm fires. I greeted him and while still standing; I said: Have you divorced your wives? He raised his eyes to me and replied in the negative. And then while still standing; I said chatting: Will you heed what I say; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! We; the people of Quraish used to have the upper hand over our women wives ; and when we came to the people whose women had the upper hand over them... Umar told the whole story about his wife. On that the Prophet ﷺ smiled. Umar further said; I then said; I went to Hafsa and said to her: Do not be tempted to imitate your companion Aisha for she is more beautiful than you and more beloved to the Prophet. The Prophet ﷺ smiled again. When I saw him smiling; I sat down and cast a glance at the room; and by Allah; I couldnt see anything of importance but three hides. I said to Allah Messenger ﷺ Invoke Allah to make your followers prosperous for the Persians and the Byzantines have been made prosperous and given worldly luxuries; though they do not worship Allah? The Prophet ﷺ was leaning then and on hearing my speech he sat straight and said; O Ibn AlKhattab! Do you have any doubt that the Hereafter is better than this world ? These people have been given rewards of their good deeds in this world only. I asked the Prophet ﷺ. Please ask Allah forgiveness for me. The Prophet ﷺ did not go to his wives because of the secret which Hafsa had disclosed to Aisha; and he said that he would not go to his wives for one month as he was angry with them when Allah admonished him for his oath that he would not approach Maria. When twenty-nine days had passed; the Prophet ﷺ went to Aisha first of all. She said to him; You took an oath that you would not come to us for one month; and today only twenty-nine days have passed; as I have been counting them day by day. The Prophet ﷺ said; The month is also of twenty-nine days. That month consisted of twenty-nine days. Aisha said; When the Divine revelation of Choice was revealed; the Prophet ﷺ started with me; saying to me; I am telling you something; but you need not hurry to give the reply till you can consult your parents. Aisha knew that her parents would not advise her to part with the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said that Allah had said: O Prophet! Say To your wives; If you desire The life of this world And its glitter;... then come! I will make a provision for you and set you free In a handsome manner. But if you seek Allah And His Apostle; and The Home of the Hereafter; then Verily; Allah has prepared For the good-doers amongst you A great reward. 33.28 Aisha said; Am I to consult my parents about this? I indeed prefer Allah; His Apostle; and the Home of the Hereafter. I said; Was this before decreeing of the use of the veil or after it? Ata took an oath and said; I saw it after the order of veil. I said; How did they mix with the men? Ata said; The women never mixed with the men; and Aisha used to perform Tawaf separately and never mixed with men. Once it happened that Aisha was performing the Tawaf and woman said to her; O Mother of believers! Let us touch the Black stone. Aisha said to her; Go yourself; and she herself refused to do so. The wives of the Prophet ﷺ used to come out in night; in disguise and used to perform Tawaf with men. But whenever they intended to enter the Kabah; they would stay outside till the men had gone out. I and Ubaid Bin Umair used to visit Aisha while she was residing at Jauf Thabir. I asked; What was her veil? Would that you ordered the Mothers of the believers to cover themselves with veils. So the Divine Verses of AlHijab i.e. veiling of the women were revealed. I came to know that the Prophet ﷺ had blamed some of his wives so I entered upon them and said; You should either stop troubling the Prophet ﷺ or else Allah will give His Apostle better wives than you. When I came to one of his wives; she said to me; O Umar! Does Allah Messenger ﷺ havent what he could advise his wives with; that you try to advise them? SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6846Narrated Mujahi: regarding the Verse :- Those of you who die and leave wives behind. They - their wives - shall wait as regards their marriage for four months and ten days. 2.234 The widow; according to this Verse; was to spend this period of waiting with her husband family; so Allah revealed: Those of you who die and leave wives i.e. widows should bequeath for their wives; a year maintenance and residences without turning them out; but if they leave their residence ; there is no blame on you for what they do with themselves provided it is honorable. i.e. lawful marriage 2.240. So Allah entitled the widow to be bequeathed extra maintenance for seven months and twenty nights; and that is the completion of one year. If she wished she could stay in her husband home according to the will; and she could leave it if she wished; as Allah says:..without turning them out; but if they leave the residence ; there is no blame on you. So the Idda i.e. four months and ten days as it is obligatory for her. Ata said: Ibn Abbas said; This Verse; i.e. the Statement of Allah:..without turning them out.. cancelled the obligation of staying for the waiting period in her dead husband house; and she can complete this period wherever she likes. Ata aid: If she wished; she could complete her Idda by staying in her dead husband residence according to the will or leave it according to Allah Statement:- There is no blame on you for what they do with themselves. Ata added: Later the regulations of inheritance came and abrogated the order of the dwelling of the widow in her dead husband house ; so she could complete the Idda wherever she likes. And it was no longer necessary to provide her with a residence. Ibn Abbas said; This Verse abrogated her i.e. widows dwelling in her dead husband house and she could complete the Idda i.e. four months and ten days wherever she liked; as Allah Statement says:-...without turning them out...The Chapter on Marriage And Iddah in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari
