SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2003Narrated Abdullah: Allah Messenger ﷺ ; the truthful and truly-inspired; said; Each one of you collected in the womb of his mother for forty days; and then turns into a clot for an equal period of forty days and turns into a piece of flesh for a similar period of forty days and then Allah sends an angel and orders him to write four things; i.e.; his provision; his age; and whether he will be of the wretched or the blessed in the Hereafter. Then the soul is breathed into him. And by Allah; a person among you or a man may do deeds of the people of the Fire till there is only a cubit or an arm-breadth distance between him and the Fire; but then that writing which Allah has ordered the angel to write precedes; and he does the deeds of the people of Paradise and enters it; and a man may do the deeds of the people of Paradise till there is only a cubit or two between him and Paradise; and then that writing precedes and he does the deeds of the people of the Fire and enters it.The Chapter on Angeles And Good Deeds And Day Of Hell Fire in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Chapter in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-2153Narrated Abu Huraira: By Allah except Whom none has the right to- be worshipped; sometimes I used to lay sleep on the ground on my liver abdomen because of hunger; and sometimes I used to bind a stone over my belly because of hunger. One day I sat by the way from where they the Prophet ﷺ and h is companions used to come out. When Abu Bakr passed by; I asked him about a Verse from Allah Book and I asked him only that he might satisfy my hunger; but he passed by and did not do so. Then Umar passed by me and I asked him about a Verse from Allah Book; and I asked him only that he might satisfy my hunger; but he passed by without doing so. Finally Abu AlQasim the Prophet ﷺ passed by me and he smiled when he saw me; for he knew what was in my heart and on my face. He said; O Aba Hirr Abu Huraira ! I replied; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said to me; Follow me. He left and I followed him. Then he entered the house and I asked permission to enter and was admitted. He found milk in a bowl and said; From where is this milk? They said; It has been presented to you by such-and-such man or by such and such woman. He said; O Aba Hirr! I said; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Go and call the people of Suffa to me. These people of Suffa were the guests of Islam who had no families; nor money; nor anybody to depend upon; and whenever an object of charity was brought to the Prophet ﷺ ; he would send it to them and would not take anything from it; and whenever any present was given to him; he used to send some for them and take some of it for himself. The order off the Prophet upset me; and I said to myself; How will this little milk be enough for the people of AlSuffa? thought I was more entitled to drink from that milk in order to strengthen myself; but behold! The Prophet ﷺ came to order me to give that milk to them. I wondered what will remain of that milk for me; but anyway; I could not but obey Allah and His Apostle so I went to the people of AlSuffa and called them; and they came and asked the Prophet permission to enter. They were admitted and took their seats in the house. The Prophet ﷺ said; O Aba Hirr! I said; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Take it and give it to them. So I took the bowl of Milk and started giving it to one man who would drink his fill and return it to me; whereupon I would give it to another man who; in his turn; would drink his fill and return it to me; and I would then offer it to another man who would drink his fill and return it to me. Finally; after the whole group had drunk their fill; I reached the Prophet ﷺ who took the bowl and put it on his hand; looked at me and smiled and said. O Aba Hirr! I replied; Labbaik; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; There remain you and I. I said; You have said the truth; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! He said; Sit down and drink. I sat down and drank. He said; Drink; and I drank. He kept on telling me repeatedly to drink; till I said; No. by Allah Who sent you with the Truth; I have no space for it in my stomach. He said; Hand it over to me. But the widow has the right to stay that extra period or go out of her husband house as is indicated by the statement of Allah: But if they leave there is no blame on you;... 2.240 Ibn Abbas said: The above Verse has cancelled the order of spending the period of the Iddah at her late husband house; and so she could spend her period of the Iddah wherever she likes. And Allah says: Without turning them out. Ata said: If she would; she could spend her period of the Iddah at her husband house; and live there according to her husbands will and testament; and if she would; she could go out of her husband house as Allah says: There is no blame on you for what they do of themselves. 2.240 Ata added: Then the Verses of inheritance were revealed and the order of residence for the widow was cancelled; and she could spend her period of the Iddah wherever she would like; and she was no longer entitled to be accommodated by her husband family. The Chapter on Marriage And Iddah in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on And those of you who die and leave behind wives in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3253Narrated Zaid Bin Thabit: Abu Bakr AlSiddiq sent for me when the people! of Yamama had been killed i.e.; a number of the Prophet Companions who fought against Mousailama. I went to him and found Umar Bin AlKhattab sitting with him. Abu Bakr then said to me ; Umar has come to me and said: Casualties were heavy among the Qurra of the! Quran i.e. those who knew the Quran by heart on the day of the Battle of Yalmama; and I am afraid that more heavy casualties may take place among the Qurra on other battlefields; whereby a large part of the Quran may be lost. Therefore I suggest; you Abu Bakr order that the Quran be collected. I said to Umar; How can you do something which Allah Apostle did not do? Umar said; By Allah; that is a good project. Umar kept on urging me to accept his proposal till Allah opened my chest for it and I began to realize the good in the idea which Umar had realized. Then Abu Bakr said to me. You are a wise young man and we do not have any suspicion about you; and you used to write the Divine Inspiration for Allah Messenger ﷺ. So you should search for the fragmentary scripts of the Quran and collect it in one book. By Allah If they had ordered me to shift one of the mountains; it would not have been heavier for me than this ordering me to collect the Quran. Then I said to Abu Bakr; How will you do something which Allah Messenger ﷺ did not do? Abu Bakr replied; By Allah; it is a good project. Abu Bakr kept on urging me to accept his idea until Allah opened my chest for what He had opened the chests of Abu Bakr and Umar. So I started looking for the Quran and collecting it from what was written on palmed stalks; thin white stones and also from the men who knew it by heart; till I found the last Verse of Surat AlTauba Repentance with Abi Khuzaima AlAnsari; and I did not find it with anybody other than him. The Verse is: Verily there has come unto you an Apostle Muhammad from amongst yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty.. till the end of Surat Baraa AlTauba 9.128-129 Then the complete manuscripts copy of the Quran remained with Abu Bakr till he died; then with Umar till the end of his life; and then with Hafsa; the daughter of Umar. The Chapter on Lost And Found And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The collection of the Quran in Sahih AlBukhari
