SahihAlBukhari-017-001-477Narrated Amr Bin Taghlib: Some property or something was brought to Allah Messenger ﷺ and he distributed it. He gave to some men and ignored the others. Later he got the news of his being admonished by those whom he had ignored. So he glorified and praised Allah and said; Amma badu. By Allah; I may give to a man and ignore another; although the one whom I ignore is more beloved to me than the one whom I give. But I give to some people as I feel that they have no patience and no contentment in their hearts and I leave those who are patient and self-content with the goodness and wealth which Allah has put into their hearts and Amr Bin Taghlib is one of them. Amr added; By Allah! Those words of Allah Apostle are more beloved to me than the best red camels. The Chapter on Pre-Islam And Disbelievers in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Saying Ammabadu in the Khutba in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6682Narrated Abu Saeed AlKhudri: Ali Bin Abi Talib sent a piece of gold not yet taken out of its ore; in a tanned leather container to Allah Messenger ﷺ. Allah Messenger ﷺ distributed that amongst four Persons: Uyaina Bin Badr; Aqra Bin HAbis; Zaid AlKhail and the fourth was either Alqama or Amir Bin AlTufail. On that; one of his companions said; We are more deserving of this gold than these persons. When that news reached the Prophet ﷺ ; he said; Dont you trust me though I am the truth worthy man of the One in the Heavens; and I receive the news of Heaven i.e. Divine Inspiration both in the morning and in the evening? There got up a man with sunken eyes; raised cheek bones; raised forehead; a thick beard; a shaven head and a waist sheet that was tucked up and he said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Be afraid of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said; Woe to you! Am I not of all the people of the earth the most entitled to fear Allah? Then that man went away. Khalid Bin AlWahd said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! Shall I chop his neck off? The Prophet ﷺ said; No; for he may offer prayers. Khalid said; Numerous are those who offer prayers and say by their tongues i.e. mouths what is not in their hearts. Allah Messenger ﷺ said; I have not been ordered by Allah to search the hearts of the people or cut open their bellies. Then the Prophet looked at him i.e. that man while the latter was going away and said; From the offspring of this man there will come out people who will recite the Quran continuously and elegantly but it will not exceed their throats. They will neither understand it nor act upon it. They would go out of the religion i.e. Islam as an arrow goes through a game body. I think he also said; If I should be present at their time I would kill them as the nations a Thamud were killed. The Chapter on Killing And Disbelivers in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Sending Ali and Khalid to Yemen in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6993Narrated Zaid Bin Thabit AlAnsari: who was one of those who used to write the Divine Revelation: Abu Bakr sent for me after the heavy casualties among the warriors of the battle of Yamama where a great number of Qurra were killed. Umar was present with Abu Bakr who said; Umar has come to me and said; The people have suffered heavy casualties on the day of the battle of Yamama; and I am afraid that there will be more casualties among the Qurra those who know the Quran by heart at other battle-fields; whereby a large part of the Quran may be lost; unless you collect it. And I am of the opinion that you should collect the Quran. Abu Bakr added; I said to Umar; How can I do something which Allah Apostle has not done? Umar said to me ; By Allah; it is really a good thing. So Umar kept on pressing; trying to persuade me to accept his proposal; till Allah opened my bosom for it and I had the same opinion as Umar. Zaid Bin Thabit added: Umar was sitting with him Abu Bakr and was not speaking. me. You are a wise young man and we do not suspect you of telling lies or of forgetfulness : and you used to write the Divine Inspiration for Allah Messenger ﷺ. Therefore; look for the Quran and collect it in one manuscript. By Allah; if he Abu Bakr had ordered me to shift one of the mountains from its place it would not have been harder for me than what he had ordered me concerning the collection of the Quran. I said to both of them; How dare you do a thing which the Prophet has not done? Abu Bakr said; By Allah; it is really a good thing. So I kept on arguing with him about it till Allah opened my bosom for that which He had opened the bosoms of Abu Bakr and Umar. So I started locating Quranic material and collecting it from parchments; scapula; leaf-stalks of date palms and from the memories of men who knew it by heart. I found with Khuzaima two Verses of Surat AlTauba which I had not found with anybody else; and they were :- Verily there has come to you an Apostle Muhammad from amongst yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty He Muhammad is ardently anxious over you to be rightly guided 9.128 The manuscript on which the Quran was collected; remained with Abu Bakr till Allah took him unto Him; and then with Umar till Allah took him unto Him; and finally it remained with Hafsa; Umar daughter. The Chapter on Lost And Found And Alquran in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari
