A man came and told him about the crying of the women of Jafar. The Prophet ﷺ ordered him to forbid them. The man went and came back saying that he had told them but they did not listen to him. The Prophet ﷺ said; Forbid them. So again he went and came back for the third time and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! By Allah; they did not listen to us at all. Aisha added : Allah Messenger ﷺ ordered him to go and put dust in their mouths. I said; to that man May Allah stick your nose in the dust i.e. humiliate you ! SahihAlBukhari-017-001-244Narrated Aisha: When the news of the martyrdom of Zaid Bin Haritha; Jafar and Abdullah Bin Rawaha came; the Prophet sat down looking sad; and I was looking through the chink of the door. A man came and said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! The women of Jafar; and then he mentioned their crying. The Prophet ﷺ ordered him to stop them from crying. The man went and came back and said; I tried to stop them but they disobeyed. The Prophet ﷺ ordered him for the second time to forbid them. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4035Narrated Abu Mousa: We got the news of the migration of the Prophet ﷺ while we were in Yemen; so we set out migrating to him. We were; I and my two brothers; I being the youngest; and one of my brothers was Abu Burda and the other was Abu Ruhm. We were over fifty or fifty-three or fifty two men from our people. We got on board a ship which took us to AlNajashi in Ethiopia; and there we found Jafar Bin Abu Talib and his companions with AlNajaishi. Jafar said to us ; Allah Messenger ﷺ has sent us here and ordered us to stay here; so you too; stay with us. We stayed with him till we all left Ethiopia and met the Prophet ﷺ at the time when he had conquered Khaibar. He gave us a share from its booty or gave us from its booty. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4874Narrated AlBara: When the Prophet ﷺ intended to perform Umra in the month of Dh AlQada; the people of Mecca did not let him enter Mecca till he settled the matter with them by promising to stay in it for three days only. When the document of treaty was written; the following was mentioned: These are the terms on which Muhammad; Allah Messenger ﷺ agreed to make peace. They said; We will not agree to this; for if we believed that you are Allah Messenger ﷺ we would not prevent you; but you are Muhammad Bin Abdullah. The Prophet ﷺ said; I am Allah Messenger ﷺ and also Muhammad Bin Abdullah. Then he said to Ali; Rub off the words Allah Messenger ﷺ ; but Ali said; No; by Allah; I will never rub off your name. So; Allah Messenger ﷺ took the document and wrote; This is what Muhammad Bin Abdullah has agreed upon: No arms will be brought into Mecca except in their cases; and nobody from the people of Mecca will be allowed to go with him i.e. the Prophet ﷺ even if he wished to follow him and he the Prophet ﷺ will not prevent any of his companions from staying in Mecca if the latter wants to stay. When the Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca and the time limit passed; the Meccans went to Ali and said; Tell your Friend i.e. the Prophet ﷺ to go out; as the period agreed to has passed. So; the Prophet ﷺ went out of Mecca. The daughter of Hamza ran after them i.e. the Prophet ﷺ and his companions ; calling; O Uncle! O Uncle! Ali received her and led her by the hand and said to Fatima; Take your uncle daughter. Zaid and Jafar quarreled about her. Ali said; I have more right to her as she is my uncle daughter. Jafar said; She is my uncle daughter; and her aunt is my wife. Zaid said; She is my brother daughter. The Prophet ﷺ judged that she should be given to her aunt; and said that the aunt was like the mother. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6590Narrated AlBara: When the Prophet ﷺ went out for the Umra in the month of Dhal-Qada; the people of Mecca did not allow him to enter Mecca till he agreed to conclude a peace treaty with them by virtue of which he would stay in Mecca for three days only in the following year. When the agreement was being written; the Muslims wrote: This is the peace treaty; which Muhammad; Apostle of Allah has concluded. The infidels said to the Prophet ; We do not agree with you on this; for if we knew that you are Apostle of Allah we would not have prevented you for anything i.e. entering Mecca; etc. ; but you are Muhammad; the son of Abdullah. Then he said to Ali; Erase the name of Apostle of Allah. Ali said; No; by Allah; I will never erase you i.e. your name. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ took the writing sheet...and he did not know a better writing..and he wrote or got it the following written! This is the peace treaty which Muhammad; the son of Abdullah; has concluded: Muhammad should not bring arms into Mecca except sheathed swords; and should not take with him any person of the people of Mecca even if such a person wanted to follow him; and if any of his companions wants to stay in Mecca; he should not forbid him. In the next year when the Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca and the allowed period of stay elapsed; the infidels came to Ali and said Tell your companion Muhammad to go out; as the allowed period of his stay has finished. So the Prophet ﷺ departed from Mecca and the daughter of Hamza followed him shouting O Uncle; O Uncle! Ali took her by the hand and said to Fatima; Take the daughter of your uncle. So she made her ride on her horse. When they reached Medina Ali; Zaid and Jafar quarreled about her. Ali said; I took her for she is the daughter of my uncle. Jafar said; She is the daughter of my uncle and her aunt is my wife. Zaid said; She is the daughter of my brother. On that; the Prophet ﷺ gave her to her aunt and said; The aunt is of the same status as the mother. He then said to Ali; You are from me; and I am from you; and said to Jafar; You resemble me in appearance and character; and said to Zaid; You are our brother and our freed slave. Ali said to the Prophet Wont you marry the daughter of Hamza? SahihMuslim-017-001-20820Abu Mousa reported: We were in Yemen when we heard of the migration of Allah Messenger ﷺ. We also set out as immigrants to him. And I was accompanied by two brothers of mine; I being the youngest of them; one of them was Abu Burda and the other one was Abu Ruhm; and there were some other persons with them. Some say they were fifty-three or fifty-two persons of my tribe. We embarked upon a boat; and the boat sailed away to the Negus of Abyssinia. There we met Jafar Bin Abu Talib and his companions. Jafar said: Allall Messenger ﷺ has sent us here and has commanded us to stay here and you should also stay with us. So we stayed with him and we came back to Medina and met Allah Messenger ﷺ when Khaibar had been conquered. He the Holy Prophet allocated a share to us and in the ordinary course he did not allocate the share to one who had been absent on the occasion of the conquest of Khaibar but conferred a share upon him only who had been present there with him. He; however; made an exception for the people of the boat; viz. for Jafar and his companions. He allocated a share to them; and some persons from amongst the people said to us; viz. the people of the boat: We have preceded you in migration. Asma bint Umais who had migrated to Abyssinia and had come back along with them along with immigrants visited Hafsa; the wife of Allah Apostle ﷺ. Accordingly ; Umar had been sitting with her Hafsa. As Umar saw Asma; he said: Who is she? She Hafsa said: She is Asma; daughter of Umais. He said: She is an Abyssinian and a sea-woman. Asma said: Yes; it is so. Thereupon Umar said: We preceded you in migration and so we have more right to Allah Messenger ﷺ as compared with you. At this she felt annoyed and said: Umar; you are not stating the fact; by Allah; you had the privilege of being in the company of the Messenger ﷺ who fed the hungry among you and instructed the ignorant amongst you; whereas we had been far from here in the land of Abyssinia amongst the enemies and that was all for Allah and Allah Messenger ﷺ and; by Allah; I would never take food nor take water unless I make a mention to Allah Messenger ﷺ of what you have said. We remained in that country in constant trouble and dread and I shall talk about it to Allah Messenger way ﷺ and ask him about it. By Allah; I shall not tell a lie and deviate from the truth and add anything to that. So; when Allah Apostle ﷺ came; she said: Allah Apostle; Umar says so and so. Upon this Allah Messenger ﷺ said: His right is not more than yours; for him and his companions there is one migration; but for you; i. e. for the people of the boat; there are two migrations. She said: I saw Abu Mousa and the people of the boat coming to me in groups and asking me about this hadith; because there was nothing more pleasing and more significant for them than this. Then Jafar said: I shall take her; I have more right to her; she is my uncle daughter and her maternal aunt is my wife; the maternal aunt is like mother. Ali said: I am more entitled to take her. She is my uncle daughter. The daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is my wife; and she has more right to her. Zayd said: I have more right to her. I went out and journeyed to her; and brought her with me. The Prophet ﷺ came out. The narrator mentioned the rest of the tradition. He i.e. the Prophet said: As for the girl; I decided in favour of Jafar. She will live with her maternal aunt. At AlSuqya they passed by Husayn Ibn Ali; who was ill at the time. Abdullah Ibn Jafar stayed with him and then; when he feared that he was late for the hajj he left; and sent for Ali Ibn Abi Talib and Asma bint Umays in Madina; and they came to Husayn. Then Husayn pointed to his head; and AIi told someone to shave his head. Then he sacrificed an animal for him at AlSuqya; killing a camel for him.
