SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3365Narrated Saad Bin Abi Waqqas: Umar Bin AlKhattab asked the permission of Allah Messenger ﷺ to see him while some Quraishi women were sitting with him; talking to him and asking him for more expenses; raising their voices above the voice of Allah Messenger ﷺ. When Umar asked for the permission to enter; the women quickly put on their veils. Allahsf Apostle allowed him to enter and Umar came in while Allah Messenger ﷺ was smiling; Umar said O Allah Apostle! May Allah always keep you smiling. The Prophet ﷺ said; These women who have been here; roused my wonder; for as soon as they heard your voice; they quickly put on their veils. Umar said; O Allah Messenger ﷺ ! You have more right to be feared by them than I. Then Umar addressed the women saying; O enemies of yourselves! You fear me more than you do Allah Messenger ﷺ ? They said; Yes; for you are harsher and sterner than Allah Messenger ﷺ. Then Allah Messenger ﷺ said; O Ibn AlKhattab! By Him in Whose Hands my life is! Never does Satan find you going on a way; but he takes another way other than yours. The Chapter on Recitations And Poetry Graves in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The merits of Umar Bin AlKhattab in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3456Narrated Urwa: that he asked Aisha about the Statement of Allah: If you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphan girls; then marry other women of your choice; two or three or four; but if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with them ; then only one; or the captives that your right hands possess. That will be nearer to prevent you from doing injustice. 4.3 Aisha said; O my nephew! This Verse has been revealed in connection with an orphan girl under the guardianship of her guardian who is attracted by her wealth and beauty and intends to marry her with a Mahr less than what other women of her standard deserve. So they such guardians have been forbidden to marry them unless they do justice to them and give them their full Mahr; and they are ordered to marry other women instead of them. The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes And Orphans in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on Awakening the desire for marriage in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-3942Narrated Adi Bin Hatim: While I was in the city of the Prophet; a man came and complained to him the Prophet; of destitution and poverty. Then another man came and complained of robbery by highwaymen. The Prophet said; Adi! Have you been to AlHira? I said; I havent been to it; but I was informed about it. He said; If you should live for a long time; you will certainly see that a lady in a Howdah traveling from AlHira will safely reach Mecca and perform the Tawaf of the Kaba; fearing none but Allah. I said to myself; What will happen to the robbers of the tribe of Tai who have spread evil through out the country? The Prophet ﷺ further said. If you should live long; the treasures of Khosrau will be opened and taken as spoils. I asked; You mean Khosrau; son of Hurmuz? He said; Khosrau; son of Hurmuz; and if you should live long; you will see that one will carry a handful of gold or silver and go out looking for a person to accept it from him; but will find none to accept it from him. And any of you; when meeting Allah; will meet Him without needing an interpreter between him and Allah to interpret for him; and Allah will say to him: Didnt I send a messenger to teach you? He will say: Yes. Allah will say: Didnt I give you wealth and do you favors? He will say: Yes. Then he will look to his right and see nothing but Hell; and look to his left and see nothing but Hell. Adi further said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying; Save yourself from the Hell Fire even with half a date to be given in charity and if you do not find a half date; then with a good pleasant word. Adi added: later on I saw a lady in a Howdah traveling from AlHira till she performed the Tawaf of the Kaba; fearing none but Allah. And I was one of those who opened conquered the treasures of Khosrau; son of Hurmuz. If you should live long; you will see what the Prophet ﷺ Abu AlQasim had said: A person will come out with a handful. of gold...etc.The Chapter on Charity To Save Oneself From Hell Fire in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The signs of Prophethood in Islam in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4254Narrated Ibn Umar: Allah Messenger ﷺ said; Once three persons from the previous nations were traveling; and suddenly it started raining and they took shelter in a cave. The entrance of the cave got closed while they were inside. They said to each other; O you! Nothing can save you except the truth; so each of you should ask Allah Help by referring to such a deed as he thinks he did sincerely i.e. just for gaining Allah Pleasure. So one of them said; O Allah! You know that I had a laborer who worked for me for one Faraq i.e. three Sas of rice; but he departed; leaving it i.e. his wages. I sowed that Faraq of rice and with its yield I bought cows for him. Later on when he came to me asking for his wages; I said to him ; Go to those cows and drive them away. He said to me; But you have to pay me only a Faraq of rice; I said to him; Go to those cows and take them; for they are the product of that Faraq of rice. So he drove them. O Allah! If you consider that I did that for fear of You; then please remove the rock. The rock shifted a bit from the mouth of the cave. The second one said; O Allah; You know that I had old parents whom I used to provide with the milk of my sheep every night. One night I was delayed and when I came; they had slept; while my wife and children were crying with hunger. I used not to let them i.e. my family drink unless my parents had drunk first. So I disliked to wake them up and also disliked that they should sleep without drinking it; I kept on waiting for them to wake till it dawned. O Allah! If You consider that I did that for fear of you; then please remove the rock. So the rock shifted and they could see the sky through it. The third one said; O Allah! You know that I had a cousin i.e. my paternal uncle daughter who was most beloved to me and I sought to seduce her; but she refused; unless I paid her one-hundred Dinars i.e. gold pieces. So I collected the amount and brought it to her; and she allowed me to sleep with her. But when I sat between her legs; she said; Be afraid of Allah; and do not deflower me but legally. I got up and left the hundred Dinars for her. O Allah! If You consider that I did that for fear of you than please remove the rock. So Allah saved them and they came out of the cave. The Chapter on Rain And Clouds And Mountains in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The tale of the Cave in Sahih AlBukhari

Umar said; O Allah Apostle! You have more right to be feared by them. Then he addressed those women saying; O enemies of your own souls! Do you fear me and not Allah Messenger ﷺ ? They replied. SahihAlBukhari-017-001-4947Narrated Urwa Bin AlZubair: That he had asked Aisha about the meaning of the Statement of Allah: If you fear that you shall not Be able to deal justly With the orphan girls; then Marry Other women of your choice Two or three or four. 4.3 She said; O my nephew! This is about the orphan girl who lives with her guardian and shares his property. Her wealth and beauty may tempt him to marry her without giving her an adequate Mahr bridal-money which might have been given by another suitor. So; such guardians were forbidden to marry such orphan girls unless they treated them justly and gave them the most suitable Mahr; otherwise they were ordered to marry any other woman. Aisha further said; After that verse the people again asked the Prophet about the marriage with orphan girls ; so Allah revealed the following verses:- They ask your instruction Concerning the women. Say: Allah Instructs you about them And about what is Recited unto you In the Book; concerning The orphan girls to whom You give not the prescribed portions and yet whom you Desire to marry... 4.127 What is meant by Allah Saying:- And about what is Recited unto you is the former verse which goes:- If you fear that you shall not Be able to deal justly With the orphan girls; then Marry other women of your choice. 4.3 Aisha said; Allah saying in the other verse:-Yet whom you desire to marry 4.127 means the desire of the guardian to marry an orphan girl under his supervision when she has not much property or beauty in which case he should treat her justly. The guardians were forbidden to marry their orphan girls possessing property and beauty without being just to them; as they generally refrain from marrying them when they are neither beautiful nor wealthy. The Chapter on Contracts And Disputes And Orphans in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on The partnership of orphans and inheritors in Sahih AlBukhari
SahihAlBukhari-017-001-6850Narrated Nafi: Whenever Abdullah Bin Umar was asked about Prayer AlKhauf i.e. prayer of fear he said; The Imam comes forward with a group of people and leads them in a one raka prayer while another group from them who has not prayed yet; stay between the praying group and the enemy. When those who are with the Imam have finished their one raka; they retreat and take the positions of those who have not prayed but they will not finish their prayers with Taslim. Those who have not prayed; come forward to offer a raka with the Imam while the first group covers them from the enemy. Then the Imam; having offered two rakat; finishes his prayer. Then each member of the two groups offer the second raka alone after the Imam has finished his prayer. Thus each one of the two groups will have offered two rakat. But if the fear is too great; they can pray standing on their feet or riding on their mounts; facing the Qibla or not. Nafi added: I do not think that Abdullah Bin Umar narrated this except from Allah Messenger ﷺ See Hadith No. 451; Vol 5 to know exactly The Fear Prayer. The Chapter on Enemies And Groups And Bowing in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prophetic Commentary on the Quran Tafseer of the Prophet in Sahih AlBukhari

SahihMuslim-017-001-18424It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said to his uncle at the time of his death : Make a profession of it that there is no god but Allah and I will bear testimony of your being a Muslim on the Day of judgment. He Abu Talib said: Were it not the fear of the Quraysh blaming me and saying that it was the fear of approaching death that induced me to do so; I would have certainly delighted your eyes. It was then that Allah revealed: Verily thou canst not guide to the right path whom thou lovest. SahihMuslim-017-001-19296Abdullah Bin Umar reported that Allah Messenger ﷺ said: Three persons set out on a journey. They were overtaken by rain and they had to find protection in a mountain cave where at its mouth there fell a rock of that mountain and thus blocked them altogether. One of them said to the others: Look to your good deeds that you performed for the sake of Allah and then supplicate Allah; the Exalted; that He might rescue you from this trouble. One of them said: 0 Allah; I had my parents who were old and my wife and my small children also. I tended the flock and when I came back to them in the evening; I milked them the sheep; goats; cows; etc. and first served that milk to my parents. One day I was obliged to go out to a distant place in search of fodder and I could not come back before evening and found them the parents asleep. I milked the animals as I used to milk and brought milk to them and stood by their heads avoiding to disturb them from sleep and I did not deem it advisable to serve milk to my children before serving them. My children wept near my feet. I remained there in that very state and my parents too until it was morning. And 0 Allah if Thou art aware that I did this in order to seek Thine pleasure; grant us riddance from this trouble. The rock slipped a bit that they could see the sky. The second one said: 0 Allah; I had a female cousin whom I loved more than the men love the women. I wanted to have sexual intercourse with her; she refused but on the condition of getting one hundred dinirs. It was with very great difficulty that I could collect one hundred dinirs and then paid them to her and when I was going to have a sexual intercourse with her; that she said: Servant of Allah; fear Allah and do not break the seal of chastity but by lawful means. I got up. 0 Allah; if Thou art aware that I did this in order to seek Thine pleasure; rid us from this trouble. The situation was somewhat eased for them. The third one said: Allah; I employed a workman for a measure of rice. After he had finished his work I gave him his dues in the form of a measure of rice; but he did not accept them. I used these rice as seeds; and that gave a bumper crop and I became rich enough to have cows and flocks in my possession. He came to me and said: Fear Allah; and commit no crueltv upon me in regard to my dues. I said to him: Takeaway this flock of cows and sheep. He said: Fear Allah and do not make a fun of me. I said: I am not making a fun of you. You take the cows and the flocks. So he took them. 0 Allah; if Thou art aware that I did it for Thine pleasure; case the situation for us. And Allah relieved them from the rest of the trouble. The Chapter on Live Stock Milk And Graze in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 2 in Sahih Muslim

SahihMuslim-017-001-20718Imam Zain AlAbidin Ali Bin Husain reported that when they came to Medina from Yazid Bin Muawiya after the martyrdom of Husain Bin Ali Allah be pleased with him Miswar Bin Makhramah met him and said to him: Is there any work for me which you ask me to do? I said to him: No. He again said to me: Would you not give me the sword of Allah Messenger ﷺ for I fear that the people may snatch it from you? By Allah; if you give that to me; no one would be able to take it away; so long as there is life in me. Verily Ali Bin Abi Talib sent a proposal of marriage to the daughter of Abu Jahl in spite of the fact that his wife Fatima had been living in his house. Thereupon I heard Allah Messenger ﷺ say while addressing the people on the pulpit. I was adolescing in those days. He said: Fatima is a part of me and I fear that she may be put to trial in regard to religion. He then made a mention of his son-in law who had been from the tribe of Abd Shams and praised his behaviour as a son-in-law and said: Whatever he said to me he told the truth and whatever he promised he fulfilled it for me. SahihMuslim-017-001-21987Mundhir Bin Jarir reported on the authority of his father: While we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the early hours of the morning; some people came there who were barefooted; naked; wearing striped woollen clothes; or cloaks; with their swords hung around their necks. Most of them; nay; all of them; belonged to the tribe of Mudar. The colour of the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ underwent a change when he saw them in poverty. He then entered his house and came out and commanded Bilal to pronounce Adhan. He pronounced Adhan and Iqima; and he the Holy Prophet observed prayer along with his Companion and then addressed them reciting verses of the Holy Quran : 0 people; fear your Lord; Who created you from a single being to the end of the verse; Allah is ever a Watcher over you iv. 1. He then recited a verse of Surat Hashr: Fear Allah. and let every soul consider that which it sends forth for the morrow and fear Allah lix. 18. Then the audience began to vie with one another in giving charity. Some donated a dinar; others a dirham; still others clothes; some donated a sa of wheat; some a sa of dates; till he the Holy Prophet said: Bring even if it is half a date. Then a person from among the Ansar came there with a money bag which his hands could scarcely lift; in fact; they could not lift. Then the people followed continuously; till I saw two heaps of eatables and clothes; and I saw the face of the Messenger ﷺ glistening; like gold on account of joy. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who sets a good precedent in Islam; there is a reward for him for this act of goodness and reward of that also who acted according to it subsequently; without any deduction from their rewards; and he who sets in Islam an evil precedent; there is upon him the burden of that; and the burden of him also who acted upon it subsequently; without any deduction from their burden. The Chapter on Jihad With Hands in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 20 in Sahih Muslim
SahihMuslim-017-001-22088Abu Said AlKhudri reported: Ali Bin Abu Talib sent to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Yemen some gold alloyed with clay in a leather bag dyed in the leaves of Mimosa flava. He distributed it among four men. Uyaina Bin Housna; Aqra Bin Habis and Zaid AlKhail; and the fourth one was either Alqama Bin Ulatha or Amir Bin Tufail. A person from among his Prophets Companions said: We had a better claim to this wealth than these persons. This remark reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon which he said: Will you not trust me; whereas I am a trustee of Him Who is in the heaven? The news come to me from the heaven morning and evening. Then there stood up a person with deep sunken eyes; prominent cheek bones; and elevated forehead; thick beard; shaven head; tucked up loincloth; and he said: Messenger of Allah; fear Allah. He the Holy Prophet said: Woe to thee. Do I not deserve most to fear Allah amongst the people of the earth? That man then returned. Khalid Bin Walid then said: Messenger of Allah; should I not strike his neck? Upon this he the Holy Prophet said: Perhaps he may be observing the prayer. Khalid said: How many observers of prayer are there who profess with their tongue what is not in their heart? Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I have not been commanded to pierce through the hearts of people; nor to split their bellies insides. He again looked at him and he was going back. Upon this he the Holy Prophet said: There would arise a people from the progeny of this man who would recite the Quran glibly; but it would not go beyond their throats; they would hurriedly pass through the teachings of their religion just as the arrow passes through the prey. I conceive that he the Holy Prophet also said this: If I find them I would certainly kill them as were killed the people of Thamud. The Chapter on Games And Hunting And Striking in HodHood Indexing, Chapter on 47 in Sahih Muslim

SunanAlTermithi-017-001-9830Another chain from Adi Bin Hatim who said: I went to the Prophet ﷺ while he was sitting in the Masjid; the people said: This is Adi Bin Hatim. And I came without having a treaty nor a writ. When I was brought to him; he took my hand. Prior to that he had said: I hope that Allah will place his hand in my hand. He said: He stood with me; and a woman and a boy met him and said: We have a need from you. He stood with them; until he was finished dealing with what they wanted. Then he took me by the hand until he brought me to his house. A slave girl brought him a cushion to sit on; and I sat in front of him. He expressed thanks and praise for Allah then said: What has caused you to flee from saying La Ilaha Illallah? Do you know of another god other than Him? He said: I said: No. He said: Then he talked for some time; and then said: You refuse to say Allahu Akbar because you know that there is something greater than Allah? He said: I said: No. He said: Indeed the Jews are those who Allah is wrath with; and the Christians have strayed. He said: I said: Indeed I am a Muslim; Hanif. He said: I saw his face smiling with happiness. He said: Then he ordered that I stop with him at the home of a man from the Ansar; whom he would frequently visit in the mornings and the evenings. When I was with him at night; a people in woolen garments of these Nimar a cloth with certain patters; and the word appeared before came. Then he performed Prayer and stood to encourage them the people to give charity to them. Then he said: Even with a Sa or half a Sa; or a handful or part of a handful; to save the face of one of you from the heat of Hell; or the Fire. And even if it be by a date or a part of a date - for indeed one of you shall meet Allah and it shall be said to him what I say to you: Have I not given hearing and seeing to you? He shall say: Of course. It will be said: Have I not given you wealth and children? He shall say: Of course. It will be said: So where is what you have sent forth for yourself? He will look before him and behind him; on his right and on his left; but he shall not find anything to protect his face from the heat of Hell. Let one of you protect his face from the Fire; even if with part of a date; and if he does not find that; then with a good statement. For indeed I do not fear poverty for you - Allah will aid you and grant you; such that a woman can travel on her camel howda from Yathrib to AlHirah; or further; without fear of being robbed. SunanAbuDawoud-017-001-24907Ibn Shihab said Urwah Bin AlZubair asked Aisha ; wife of the Prophet ﷺ about the Quranic verse And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly by the orphans; marry of the women; who seem good to you. She said O my nephew; this means the female orphan who is under the protection of her guardian and she holds a share in his property and her property and beauty attracts him; so her guardian intends to marry her without doing justice to her in respect of her dower and he gives her the same amount of dower as others give her. They i.e.; the guardians were prohibited to marry them except that they do justice to them and pay them their maximum customary dower and they were asked to marry women other than them i.e.; the orphans who seem good to them. Urwah reported that Aisha said The people then consulted the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ about women after revelation of this verse. Thereupon Allaah the Exalted sent down the verse They consult thee concerning women. Say Allaah giveth you decree concerning them and the scripture which hath been recited unto you giveth decree concerning female orphans unto whom you give not that which is ordained for them though you desire to marry them. She said The mention made by Allaah about the Scripture recited to them refers to the former verse in which Allaah has said And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly by the orphans; marry of the women; who seem good to you. Aisha said The pronouncement of Allaah ; the Exalted in the latter verse though you desire to marry them means the disinterest of one of you in marrying a female orphan who was under his protection; but she said little property and beauty. So they were prohibited to marry them for their interest in the property and beauty of the female orphans due to their disinterest in themselves except that they do justice to them. MuwataMalik-017-001-34246Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd Ibn Aslam from his father that the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; was on one of his journeys; and one night Umar Ibn AlKhattab; who was travelling with him; asked him about something; but he did not answer him. He asked him again; but he did not answer him. Then he asked him again; and again he did not answer him. Umar said; May your mother be bereaved of you; Umar. Three times you have importuned the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; with a question and he has not answered you at all. Umar continued; I got my camel moving until; when I was in front of the people; I feared that a piece of Quran was being sent down about me. It was not long before I heard a crier calling for me; and I said that I feared that a piece of Quran had been sent down about me. He continued; I came to the Messenger of Allah; may Allah bless him and grant him peace; and said; Peace be upon you to him; and he said; A Surat has been sent down to me this night that is more beloved to me than anything on which the sun rises. Then he recited AlFath Surat 48.The Chapter on Communication And Answers in HodHood Indexing, The Book of Prayer in Congregation in Muwata Malik
MuwataMalik-017-001-34889Yahya said that he heard Malik say; The best of what I have heard about the testament of a pregnant woman and about what settlements she is permitted in her property is that the pregnant woman is like the sick person. When the illness is light; and one does not fear for the sick person; he does with his property what he likes. If the illness is such that his life is feared for; he can only dispose of a third of his estate. He said; It is the same with a woman who is pregnant. The beginning of pregnancy is good news and joy. It is not illness and no fear because Allah the Blessed; the Exalted; said in His Book; We gave her good news of Ishaq and after Ishaq; Yaqub. Surat ll ayat 71. And He said; She bore a light burden and passed by with it; but when she became heavy; they called upon Allah; their Lord; If you give us a good-doing son; we will be among the thankful. Surat 7 ayat 189. When a pregnant woman becomes heavy; she is only permitted to dispose of a third of her estate. The beginning of this restriction is after six months. Allah; the Blessed; the Exalted; said in His Book; Mothers suckle their children for two complete years. And He said; his bearing and weaning are thirty months. Surat 2 ayat 233. When six months have passed for the pregnant woman from the day she conceived; she is only permitted to dispose of a third of her property. Yahya said that he heard Malik say; A man who is advancing in the row for battle; can only dispose of a third of his property. MuwataMalik-017-001-35184Yahya related to me from Malik that the best of what he had heard about a man who is forced by necessity to eat carrion is that he ate it until he was full and then he took provision from it. If he found something which would enable him to dispense with it; he threw it away. Malik when asked whether or not a man who had been forced by necessity to eat carrion; should eat it when he also found the fruit; crops or sheep of a people in that place; answered; If he thinks that the owners of the fruit; crops; or sheep will believe his necessity so that he will not be deemed a thief and have his hand cut off; then I think that he should eat from whatever he finds that which will remove his hunger but he should not carry any of it away. I prefer that he does that than that he eat carrion. If he fears that he will not be believed; and will be deemed a thief for what he has taken; then I think that it is better for him to eat the carrion; and he has leeway to eat carrion in this respect. Even so; I fear that someone who is not forced by necessity to eat carrion might exceed the limits out of a desire to consume other peoples property; crops or fruit. Malik said; A free man must not marry a slave-girl when he can afford to marry a free-woman; and he should not marry a slave-girl when he cannot afford a free woman unless he fears fornication. That is because Allah; may he be Blessed and Exalted; says in His Book; If you are not affluent enough to marry believing women; who are muhsanat; take slave-girls who are believing women that your right hands own.
