Narrated Abdullah Ibn Amr Ibn AlAs The Prophet said If anyone prays at night reciting regularly ten verses he will not be recorded among the negligent if anyone prays at night and recites a hundred verses he will be recorded among those who are obedient to Allah and if anyone prays at night reciting one thousand verses he will be recorded among those who receive huge rewards

  110. It wasnarrated from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said Do not make Nabidh with dried dates and unripe dates together make Nabidh with each of them on its own
  111. We would make that in the morning and he would rink it intheevening or we would make it in the evening and he would drink itinthe morning

It was narrated from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said You will most certainly follow the ways of those who camebefore you arms length by arms length forearms length byforearms length hand span by hand span until even if theyentered ahole of a mastigure lizard you will enter it too
  116. When shestood up she turned to him and said You will come to know Otraitor thatwhen Allah sets up the Footstool and gathers the firstand the last and hands and feet speak of what they used to earn youwill come toknow your case and my case in His presence soon
  117. It wasnarrated from Thawban that the Messenger of Allah said Thebest Dinar that a man can spend is a Dinar that he spends on hisfamily a Dinar that he spends on a horse in the cause of Allah andaDinar that a man spends on his companions in the cause of Allah

It wasnarrated from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said Whoever dies being prepared in the cause of Allah will begivencontinuously the reward for the good deeds that he used to do and hewill be rewarded with provision and he will be kept safe fromFattan and Allah will raise him on the Day of Resurrection free offright
  119. Guarding the frontier for a dayinthe cause of Allah defending the Muslims seeking reward in themonth of Ramadan is better before Allah and brings a greater reward I think he said than worshipping for a thousand years fastingand praying

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ayyub ibn Abi Tamima as Sakhtayani from Muhammad ibn Sirin from Abu Hurayra that the Messengerof Allah may Allah bless him and grant him peace finished the prayerafter two rakas and Dhu l Yadayn said to him Has the prayer beenshortened or have you forgotten Messenger of Allah The Messenger ofAllah may Allah bless him and grant him peace said HasDhu l Yadayn spoken the truth The people said Yes and theMessenger of Allah may Allah bless him and grant him peace stood andprayed the other two rakas and then said Peace be upon you

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu n Nadr the mawla of Umaribn Ubaydullah from Malik ibn Abi Amir that Uthman ibn Affan used tosay in khutbas and he would seldom omit it if he was giving thekhutba When the imam stands delivering the khutba on the day ofjumua listen and pay attention for there is the same portion forsomeone who pays attention but cannot hear as for someone who paysattention and hears

Malik related to me from Nafi that Safiyya bint Abi Ubaydinformed him that Umar ibn al Khattab said What is the matter withmen who have intercourse with their slave girls and then leave them togo No slave girl comes to me whose master confesses that he has hadintercourse with her but that I connect her child to him whether ornot he has practised coitus interruptus or left off from intercoursewith her
  125. Yahya said that Malik spoke about an investor who put qirad moneywith an agent who bought goods with it and the investor told him tosell them
  126. Malik said Similarly had he said I have had such and such a profit from thecapital and then the owner of the capital asked him to pay him theprincipal and his profit and he said that he had not had any profitin it and had said that only so it might be left in his possession itdoes not benefit him
  127. He bought goods with it and then wentto pay the one hundred dinars to the owner of the goods and found thatthey had been stolen
  128. The Messenger of Allah may Allah blesshim and grant him peace was asked about donkeys and he said Nothing has been revealed to me about them except this single all inclusive ayat Whoever does an atom of good will see it and whoeverdoes an atom of evil will see it
  129. Yahya said that Malik said The best that I haveheard about someone who kills game and is assessed for it is that thegame which he has killed is assessed and its value in food isestimated and with that food he feeds each poor man a mudd or fasts aday in place of each mudd
  130. The number of poor men is considered andif it is ten then he fasts ten days and if it is twenty he faststwenty days according to how many people there are to be fed even ifthere are more than sixty
  131. Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Humayd ibnAbd ar Rahman ibn Awf that Abd ar Rahman ibn Abd al Qari mentioned tohim that he once did tawaf of the House with Umar ibn al Khattab aftersubh and when Umar had finished his tawaf he looked and saw that thesun had not yet risen so he rode on until he made his camel kneel atDhu Tuwa and he prayed two rakas
  132. Malik said If someone does some of his circuits andthen the subh or asr prayer is begun he should pray with the imam andthen complete the rest of his circuits but should not pray at alluntil the sun has either risen or set He added There isno harm in delaying the two rakas until after he has prayed maghrib
  133. The Messenger of Allah may Allah bless him andgrant him peace said Didn t you tell her that I do that myself and she said I told her and she went to her husband and told him but it only made him find fault all the more and say We are not likethe Messenger of Allah may Allah bless him and grant him peace
  134. Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that the peopleof knowledge did not disapprove of people fasting using tooth sticksat any hour of the day in Ramadan whether at the beginning or theend nor had he heard any of the people of knowledge disapproving ofor forbidding the practice
  135. He said I have not heard that any of ourpredecessors used to do that and the people of knowledge disapproveof it and they are afraid that it might become a bida and that commonand ignorant people might join to Ramadan what does not belong to it if they were to think that the people of knowledge had givenpermission for that to be done and were seen doing it

Yahya related to me from Malik from Amr ibn Yahya al Mazini thathis father said that he had heard Abu Said al Khudri say that theMessenger of Allah may Allah bless him and grant him peace said There is no zakat on less than five camels there is no zakat on lessthan five awaq two hundred dirhams of pure silver and there is nozakat on less than five awsuq three hundred sa
  137. Al Qasim ibn Muhammad continued When Abu Bakr gave men their allowanceshe would ask them Do you have any property on which zakat is due If they said Yes he would take the zakat on that property out oftheir allowances
  138. Malik said There is no zakatto pay on gold that is clearly less than twenty dinars in weight but if it increases so that by the increase the amount reaches a fulltwenty dinars in weight then zakat has to be paid
  139. Malik said in the case of aman who acquired five dinars from a transaction or in some other waywhich he then invested in trade that as soon as it increased to azakatable amount and then a year elapsed he had to pay zakat on it even if the zakatable amount was reached one day before or one dayafter the passing of a year
  140. Malik said in the similar case of a man who had in his possession tendinars which he invested in trade and which reached twenty dinars bythe time one year had elapsed over them that he paid zakat on themright then and did not wait until a year had elapsed over them counting from the day when they actually reached the zakatableamount
  141. Malik said What we areagreed upon here in Madina regarding income from hiring out slaves rent from property and the sums received when a slave buys hisfreedom is that no zakat is due on any of it whether great or small from the day the owner takes possession of it until a year has elapsedover it from the day when the owner takes possession of it
  142. Malik said in the case of gold and silver which was shared betweentwo co owners that zakat was due from any one whose share reachedtwenty dinars of gold or two hundred dirhams of silver and that nozakat was due from anyone whose share fell short of this zakatableamount
  143. Malik said The position which we are agreed upon and which I have heard the people of knowledge mentioning is that rikaz refers to treasure which has been found which was buried during the jahiliyya as long as neither capital is required nor expense great labour or inconvenience incurred in recovering it
  144. Bits of gold and silver or brokenjewellery which the owner intends to mend to wear are in the sameposition as goods which are worn by their owner no zakat has to bepaid on them by the owner
  145. Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya ibn Said bought someproperty on behalf of his brother s sons who were orphans in hishouse and that that property was sold afterwards for a great deal ofprofit
